| i agree with the ppl that think this song is about a guy cheating. well, i think it could either be taken as a guy messing around with a girl behind his own girlfriends back....or also it could be just that kind of a relationship....ya know they just meet up and mess around and that's all he wants from her. but he doesn't want rumors going around about him, so it's a "dirty little secret"...i dunno, that's just what i think of when i hear it. it's a sad song, i get real pissed whenever i listen to it. when he sings this...he reminds me of a guy that i know. | |

**sorry i didn't notice that Fionar2001 had already posted the mistake in the lyrics .... my favorite part is when he says "And my love is a lot like yours It's been crippled by the wars we wage We're hopeless We're on the losing side You never speak when we're making love You never mean it when you come to me With your arms stretched Defenseless and alone" i think he is trying to say that they have both been in hard relationships before and that they are both scared of getting hurt again...and that they'll never get anywhere if they don't just tell each other what they really mean. they can't really show what they mean to each other for fear of getting hurt...and so he thinks that she doesn't love him when she's with him...she just needs somebody whoa...this is way wrong, but i was just throwing it out there as a suggestion |

well basically everyone that has commented on this song has said exactly what i'm gonna say but i thought i'd attempt anyways. well i think that the song is BEAUTIFUL, it makes me cry to listen to it, because it's so close to a situation i'm in right now. it hurts so bad to realize that you'd give anything and that they just don't think of you like that. i think the most moving part of the song is when he says '..for what I give to you it's just what I'm going through this is nothing new no no, just another phase of finding what I really need' because it sounds like the guys that i kno...just talking about how when you mess around all the time and that everything you give to him is nothing new because you're just another girl to him, and that you're kinda just a little stop on his journey to find the one that he REALLY loves...and that's not you. alright well that's all i've got, i tried, lol |

i don't kno if this has already been said...but i read the first few comments...but to me, i think that the part about "Pity that its not my wife" is about how he didn't save himself for marriage...not necessarily that he was cheating on his wife but i am in love with this song, it's one of my favorites |
