i feel this song is about a soldier in a war. the opening lines make that clear, it is a scene of war and destruction. It also says "we'll write, once a day and float it through the sea/to you".The soldier is sleeping and is dreaming of the perfect world "dispose of hunger"... "get rid of heartache and cure cancer too". Then he awakes and is determined to do all these things when he gets home. He is regreting the things he has never done. He is now appreaciating life. Thats my opinion and the way i have interpreted it. I agree wi UnderTheseLights also. Love the song. It's ma fav. |
