OK these lyrics are wrong, but i'm not gonna dwell on that. This is an epic track. On a different scale to anything Atreyu has done, and it's feeling and the atmosphere it has can sorta be compared to the grandiose nature of "The Remembrance Ballad". They pushed the boundaries a lot with the new album, and I love it. This is an excellent ender |

"WHY i told you so" = "MY I told you so" I think CHORUS Here's to lowering Caskets of Old Friends....(start over)... Here's To Burying Hatchets with Those Who You Never Call Your Friends.... (start over) I can't work out the words to the chorus at all...it's really hard to work out. One of my favourite new songs this one. There's other sketchy bits here too, but Atreyu have notoriously hard-to-hear lyrics sometimes. |

Excels = Exhales i can leave before the slaughter = like a lamb before the slaughter I agree with inevercamester. The intro is really similar to the music Tim Burton used in Edward Scissorhands (Danny Elfman?). Also the part about hands rusting away gave me that impression that Atreyu used that film as inspiration for this song. Certainly one of Atreyu's most subdued numbers, but excellent. Alex proves he can sing well. |

I think they say : "Then you'll have wept as i've wept", not "Then youll have bleed this all left" "I should have turned and ran like hell", not "around like you" Otherwise, good stuff...I really love this song. It's different to any of their older stuff, and they said themselves that the new songs would divide the fanbase, and it seems they were right. |

Yeah I think he's saying that this person who has feelings for him shouldn't bother because he doesn't feel the same way. He's saying "save your scissors" to this person, as if he means save them for someone who will return your love. "There's no way..." - this means that he thinks that the person who has feelings for him is missing out on other oppurtunities because of it, and is getting left behind. Most of the lines here give me that idea, that someone is in love with him. |

| Yeah, it's on the DVD. Some parts might refer to stuff he learnt during the process of recording, and this all just about the memory. The "You've got to play it again" part is clearly about the recording, and "the fire has spread among us" is probably the new strengths that the producer and they themselves had gained through the recording. They actually poke fun at what's fashionable in "Our Lawyers Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued". I found that funny... Also, I think that there are cases for him saying god or gun here...I know it says "god" in the album booklet, but they change lyrics in recording...like he says "wishing to be the friction in your jeans", but the lyrics in the booklet say "his jeans". So I don't know...gun makes more sense, but if you look at the song "XO", he makes a reference to the bible, so it could be either. Awesome song though, I relate so much to "isn't it messed up how i'm just dying to be him?" It hits pretty close to home for me. |
