I love this song... fully agree with *anna*'s comments... It appears that he has a sense of regret... Perhaps she was really really into him, "you made me feel like the one" and he never really got the chance to show how much she meant and hence they slowly drifted away from each other "talk about why did it end"... Or maybe it is about thinking of getting back with an ex... " i dont know where we are going now" like they just recently met up andare reconnecting. Anyway regardless of any specific interpretation, it is a beautiful song with a catchiness that allows an array of listeners to enjoy it... - |

well my interpretation goes like this, sorry if its a repeated meaning! I think that he's obviously broken up with this girl, but cant get her out of his head.. He has nightmares but she's always the angel in them, there to rescue him from the horror of it all... He's dreaming they can have an impossible relationship- live like jack and sally. The second verse, he's trying to sleep, but how can he when she's not there? He's talking about when you try to sleep, and its so dark its eerie-like... U look around your room and stare at cobwebs up in the ceiling while ur trying to sleep... Then he's trying to fall asleep, and u know when u really miss someone, its right before u fall asleep that u miss them the most... and he's contemplating calling her, but he doesnt want to hear her voice of betrayal... maybe he ended the relationship badly or something and doesnt want to hear the pain in her voice... And the chorus, well she doesnt need to do anything cos she's that voice in his head... he's always thinkin bout her |

Well to me I think this song is about how you break up with someone but u still remain friends... "i try to talk to you cant get past the weather" well thats how your chatting, and find nothing else to talk about but the weather so the conversation is quite strained. So, this girl that he still likes (i dont know if i lied when i said we're not together) like, he broke up with her but he's not sure if thats what he really wants.. like, he's found someone else and has started other things with other people, but he still wants this one girl... hence all the unsent letters... I think he regrets his decision to end the relationship cos she's moved on without him.... |

okay well to me, this song means the ending of a relationship... like you have no choice in the matter, when it's over it's over. He gave up on the girl... She just wants him to put more effort into the relationship but he doesn't want to.. I always thought dropping him down to his knees bit was talking about him begging for her back.?? I guess its a bit of a reflection on relationships at the end, how the first time the relationship moved way too fast for him but the second time he thought it could of been good... And then we all like it a bit different, well everyone wants different things out of a relationship.. haha my 2 cents... people post stuff on your interpretations, not just crap on about the media hype!! :) |

I think it is about a guy who is really into this chick, but she's not too sure what she thinks of him... They're from totally different worlds, and she doesnt really fit into his world and his friends. (You're in a strange part of our town...) But he still wants her anyway... The whole thing about not wanting to slow him down is in regards to how fast he wants the relationship to progress, and doesn't want anything to get in the way of it.
