Yeah, child rape seems like one obvious theme. She mentions an orange old man... and it reminds me of the child killer Albert Fish, who was actually an old man, and known as "the Gray Man." If that is the source of inspiration, I'm not sure what the significance of the orange color is though. |

I was never really into Eminem, but I'm gonna have to say this song had a different effect on me than some of you guys. His more humorous take didn't really interest me too much when I first heard it...but then Tori gave it a new voice... and to be honest, it's made me appreciate Eminem's lyrics more. Disturbed? Sure, but I think there's a unique perspective of story telling here that you don't get in almost any songs at all these days. I could imagine a whole short story on it, but you get 5 minutes of the song and its enough already to haunt you. Its a hard song to listen to, but that's why I like it... so I myself never skip it. I love those chills. |
