Its truly amazing scary and magestic... This song doesnt predict anything as preminition or fluke it shows off the intelligence of Nick Drake. He knew what he did was amazing because he loved his music so much and he realised that eventually it will come forward. The irony of the situation is the car commericial is the thing that dug his talents out his grave. Wouldnt it be funny if the song is just about a fruit tree? |

No doubt about it, depression is so additictive. its really refering to the fact that pity is such a important thing. The fact that most poeple who are depressed most of the time are looking for others to realise the depression and almost save them. "who will hear what I say" is kind of way of asking for things without asking. Great song Nick Drake had no end to his genius and His death has imortilized him and froze him as statue in time. Over a while the statue fades but will always be brought back polished and cleaned so the new generation can find their own answer in this mans depression. |

This line is talking about how america thinks its the best country but elliott believes that we're just tear our selves apart by using Drinking as another metaphor for self caused problems of the coutnry.
