1984 is a great book,and its good to see more people writing songs about books themselves. Oingo Boingo also have a song based on 1984 (called 1984,surprise surprise). If you haven't read 1984 and you like this song,do yourself a favour and get a copy (its by George Orwell). Also the irony of the song title is a mirror image of the last few words of the book. |

I first heard this song at Utopia when Kisschasy played around 3-4weeks before the album came out.I nearly cried because...it's so demanding.I like stuck up people so I really liked this song. The first verse to me is just....I dunno.But in here: I wish I could take your face and stitch it onto all their faces Relationships that take your place End up being all I hated And you look like my type So get in line Grab a number and i'll give you a time It's like this persons just come out of a relationship,which they regret ending,and they're just wanting to have someone there to replace their previous partner. |

This is a very superficial song to me.Kinda like someone has just gotten a partner and dressed them up,made them look good and now just wants to show them off. But the way it's written,I dunno if Darren meant it this way or what,but it's sounds like what a girl would think cause it's so....bitchy. |

When I seen Kisschasy at JBHIFI I actually filmed this song and Darren says that it's about that shake you get before you sleep *real original darren :P * and then he did this weird head twist thing - anyway. I see it just as like a feeling you get that kind of stops you from sleeping and makes you think about a certain time. |

This is my favourite Kisschasy song and I can't believe nobody has commented :o Ok so the meaning.I have a feeling there's two different settings for this starting with the first verse is kinda like Darren singing about being on stage but then the second verse,to me,it's like he's trying to follow a friend into being something that he isn't.And in the final verse he's come to realise he's mistake. |

I don't think he's committing suicide.I agree with tryhardpunk,Darren said at JBHIFI that it was about a dream he had and at the Embassy that it was very dear to his heart...or close.Haha. I think the whole going into the casket with her...well I think he isn't on purpose committing suicide...he just wants to be with her. I love the lines, 'The sheets are creased from your last day, a silhouette of where you laid.' Cause....well it's obvious that he si so obsessed with this girl that he hasn't even touched where she last slept.If you think about how long it takes to dig a grave,order a casket and such....thats a pretty long time to leave a house in the same way she last left it. |

Okay that whole touch/judge thing could work both ways and I really like reading what people think is the meaning of the songs but so far no one has really sadi anything so here's my tiny say: 'Touch': If Bert does say 'touch' well then it could work with the whole masturbation theme.Like he could be imaginging kissing a girl and be touching himself. 'Judge': If Bert says 'judge' well that could work, 'in this exchange i often judge myself, so go ahead and let those dirty words pass right through me. just passing through. not stopping by. not saying hi.' He could be saying that whole 'I don't care what people say about me' thing. So yeah.I kinda like this song cause the whole 'ash' and 'coffee' thing makes it sound kind of dirty.And mentioning dancing hoes as to say like he's at a strip club. |
