Metallica – Low Man's Lyric Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is the only song I have encountered that sounds like it is being performed in the same depressed state that it describes. It really is just...low.

I think it is among their best songs. Without a shadow of a doubt. And I like all the interpretations, but I prefer to just focus on the raw emotion than the lyrics for this one.

Placebo – Plasticine Lyrics 19 years ago
Plasticine is like modelling stuff in bright colours, a bit like clay perhaps. Kids have it and you can make different shapes out of it and remould it. Fun stuff ^^

I agree with the interpretations here, but I really like the way paccy phrased it. That happens a lot around here.

Metallica – The Unforgiven II Lyrics 20 years ago
Looking at the first Unforgiven, the character turns against the world that treated him so badly and dubbed everyone 'unforgiven'. In this song, the character is happy to have found his soulmate and companion, but he has suspicions. She is not as perfect as he thought she was, and he's hoping that she is not like the others, but he's questioning 'or are you unforgiven too?'. In the end, he kills her, and it is a release for him in a way, 'I see the sun yes, now I see it'. However, the hope for him to love again has been lost 'I take this key and I bury it in you, because you're unforgiven too'. He will not love ever again as she broke his heart so badly and he will think everyone else is unforgiven.

Metallica – Turn the Page (Bob Seger cover) Lyrics 20 years ago
I haven't seen the video to this song, and am not particularly well informed...nor have I heard the original. However, my first impression was of drug abuse...'strung out from the road' the words road and trip seem to be used together, and the 'is that a woman or a man?' hinted to me that it has distorted the person so much that people whisper about them, that they have become something non human. And the chorus suggested to me that despite their best efforts, they just keep on going.

Seems to go against everyone else's (much more plausible and well informed) theories, but I thought I might add my point of view regardless. But I guess that's just me. Thanks anyway :)

Pink Floyd – Hey You Lyrics 20 years ago
i'd just like to say that this song doesn't actually appear in the film adaptation of the wall. but this song is a good introduction to the second half of the album, showing pink's current situation of being stuck behind this wall, and doesn't have the option of breaking it down anymore. the worms being decay makes sense in this song, but i'm not so sure about that in waiting for the worms - it could make sense, but the nazi dictatorship theory makes them seem more menacing.

also, the wall doesn't really have anything to do with syd. it is essentially an autobiography of roger waters. he was the main man on the album, with bob ezrin. dave gilmour and nick mason do basic instrumentals, with dave writing a few songs. rick wright was fired by roger during the making of it, because rick wasn't co-operating with how roger wanted things. roger wanted to put when the tigers broke free on this album - look at the lyrics for it. this should leave no-one in any doubt that this is a roger waters autobigraphy.
