you're on a crowded intersection and see that someone that your heart sank for years ago, but never told them. You became close friends but felt that you both had that deep connection and yearned for more. Never expressed, but years later paths cross and eyes make contact from 50 yards away. Both of you run to talk, but both hold back as you did years before. Seeing her face brings a rush of all those memories of a beautiful time in his life, a magical time, wonder and destiny. I wonder about that "I might get in the way." and "See you" "Saw you" "standing" "dancing" "laughing." But maybe he never said anything to her and simply had a crush. I prefer the first scenario, but those lines make me think otherwise. I love the song anyway, the sax, and simple guitar, and percussion combine like a symphony with the soft and emotionally expressive vocals. |
