Joss Stone – Security Lyrics 19 years ago
MidnightSkies, I know where you're coming from. A dear friend of mine is going through a very difficult time, someone she loves is dying. I have always believed in the healing powers, or at least powers os music, so when I first heard 'Security' I automatically thought of my friend, and what I was offering her. I can't go through the darkness with my friend, but I can let her know she can rely on me. Which I think, is what 'Security' is all about. It is such a beautiful song, and also it has a gosepl choir, and I am always a sucker for a gospel choir :) Joss is such a superstar in the making.

Sarah McLachlan – Witness Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with Silver_bs I adore this song and have always thought it was about life and death and wanting to understand how they work, trying to put thoughts into context. My favourite line, and one of my favourite Sarah lines is from this song; ''will we burn in heaven like we do down here, will the change come while we're waiting, everyone is waiting' We stand around waiting to understand and know things, we should be actively searching out answers, like Sarah is in this song. The live version of this song is absolutely amazing, it is one of my most loved tracks because of the live version. Hearing it two times at her concert gave me goosebumps and I had the hugest smile on my face because of those amazing full band harmonies....anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Janis Joplin – Farewell Song Lyrics 19 years ago
I adore this song, it is so powerful. There is one line in particular which just tears through me; 'and I been cryin', and I got tears in my eyes' it is not so much the lyric, but the way Janis sings it, it literally sends shivers down my spine. Amazing song, one of my favourite Janis songs

Audioslave – Be Yourself Lyrics 19 years ago
It's about being yourself, simple as that. I don't think there are any underlying messages in this awesome song. Cornells voice is sounding stronger than ever I think, he sounds more controlled. Awesome awesome, can't wait for the new album...loved the first, especially like a stone and I am the highway and of course the magnificent cochise.

Sarah McLachlan – Fallen Lyrics 19 years ago
Please note: The lyrics reads, 'in the wound that would not heal' not, as someone above suggested 'the womb that would not heal'
I adore this song, I fell in love with it as soon as I heard it. It is yet another Sarah masterpiece and describes how I feel at times. I think it is about making mistakes though you've tried and tried and tried. It is about, to me having a feeling of inadequacy and just not being able to reach the place you know you can. It is also, about frustration 'better I should know' and not wanting to hear that you've stuffed up again from other people, because you already know in your heart that you have 'messed up' Those are my thoughts on it

Sarah McLachlan – Angel Lyrics 19 years ago
To me, this song is as Sarah has said about musicians who have died from heroin. I have always wondered if the line 'From this dark cold hotel room' was written about Janis Joplin, who like Sarah is another of my favourite artists. I have seen Sarah live twice, and both times 'Angel' has brought tears to my eyes, it is so stunning and from such a deep vulnerable place. As if Sarah has a secret fear of the same happening to her. I think this because in a way, I feel there is an undercurrent of resentment towards the music industry and the way it pushes artists, I refer in particular to the line 'there's vultures and thieves at your back' Has anybody else had this thought whilst listening to 'Angel' ?

Also, I have heard 'Angel' used at many funerals, and for other reasons. It gives hope, that lived ones are now safe, resting in the arms of an 'Angel'
