| This song means so very very much to me. I've been madly in love with the same guy for 5 years and we'd be so off and on for so long. And then we broke up for a long time, and one day out of nowhere, i get this email saying "READ ME PLZ" and in it it says "i miss you, and this song made me think of you" and it was Wonderwall By Oasis. And i'd always thought oasis was good, but I never knew how incredible until I read the words to this song...but those words would be nothing without the power and love behind them. I think this song has so many different interpretations. I think its about being someone's everything. this guy is in love with this girl...and he sees that things are just not going her way thus the line "today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you"...he's reassuring her that its gonna be okay. And he tells her "i dont believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now." and just this song is about how hard it is for someone to find that perfect person...and about being someone's everything and their whole world. Like she is his wonderwall, she is his savior because before her love, he had nothing. It's about eternal love, and how it never dies. | |

Okay, Basically I get a totally different meaning. Like Okay, First of all the Title of White Houses represents (to me) Suburbia. Like Normality, Perfection, Conformity. Because In suburbs everyone's houses look a like and all rich ppl's houses are white you know like in the movies. She's talking about having to be perfect. And she's also talking about the dark side of "white houses" that nothing's as it really seems when all seems perfect. The First Verse: "Crashed On The Floor When I Moved In" Signifies that she's different than all of them. And then she talks about her cozy little private world (bungalow) and her new friends "strange new friends" who are different than her. She stays up too late, and now she's too "thin" (another piece of conformity). "Spinning empty bottles its the five of us with pretty eyed boys girls die to trust" she's talking about playing "spin the bottle" but not really the game, she's more or less talking about all five of the girls pairing off with the guys. and all the guys are those gorgeous guys that girls know are bad but they just wanna trust them. She cant resist it. "Jenny screams out and its no pose cuz when she dances she goes and goes, and beer through the nose on an inside joke and i'm so exicted i havent spoken" They're partying, and sharing inside jokes over beers, that go through their noses when they laugh. and she's so excited that she cant speak. "and she's so pretty and she's so sure, maybe i'm more clever than a girl like her" she's talking about jenny. She knows that jenny is pretty and confident but she thinks that she can outsmart her to get the guy she wants. and about the secrets in white houses. It means that she will never tell anyone what really goes on when everything seems perfect. the next part about the guy is that she knows she is getting in to deep, but she doesnt really care, she knows she wants him to like her. the next part is talking about her first time with him."Maybe I'm a little bit over my head I come undone at the things he said And he's so funny in his bright red shirt We were all in love and we all got hurt I sneak into his car's black leather seat The smell of gasoline in the summer heat Boy, we're going way too fast It's all too sweet to last It's alright And I put myself in his hands But I hold on to your secrets in white houses Love, or something ignites in my veins And I pray it never fades in white houses My first time, hard to explain Rush of blood, oh, and a little bit of pain On a cloudy day, it's more common than you think He's my first mistake " She thinks of him as a mistake. because she knows he will cost her all of her frienships. In my heart is the five of us, in white houses." she's talking about how they all turned on her, and that they all just gave eachother up after a while, and that she wants to get away from everyone and everything. So she goes, but she wont ever forget her friends, and she lies and puts away all her feelings and she'll always remember what really happenes in white houses. |
