yeah, the lyric booklet says "oh boy." I'll change it. I typed these long before the album was out, I didn't even think to check... Thanks. :)
I don't think the "Texas" is symbolic. If you lived here, you'd understand why Dan Hunter is singing out his love for the state. ;) |

this is the "loop song" Bryce talked about in the Alternative Press article. Basically he repeats the "wake up" part a bunch of times over.. All I can say about this song is that it makes my heart happy :) |

This song makes me kind of sad.
because "I'm still here and you're still gone" reminds me of my friend who moved 2000 miles away. |

I'm pretty sure it's staying the same length. personally I think it's a great outro and it'll probably sound better when it's with the rest of the album. |

Another way to see this song is in a very Christian mindset. God is the "only one." There's no one that gets us like he does. We sang this song at the church camp I go to and it was amazing. I hadn't thought of the song in such a context until we sang it in worship. |

[now] I'm pretty sure it's actually hope... but you know, with Bryce sometimes it's a little hard to understand what he's saying. I'll get it changed. :) |

Agh, thanks for the lyric fix Drew but I can't find the edit button now.
Anyways, I love this song.. it's so full of energy. Basing my thoughts on what he said about the album as a whole, I think he's basically saying that we need to get up and do something about the problems in the world. |

| Get Set Go – I Hate Everyone Lyrics

I know a kid who is just like this song.. he hates everyone. I have the "clean" version, in which the second verse goes:
Some guy at work really ticked me off by telling me that I was doing it wrong
I was the one who was doing the work, but the big stupid jerk, he drove me beserk
All I want to do is smoke a cigarette
but I couldn't take it any more so I quit
voila. |

I don't like this song much. The lyrics are pretty good, the verses are fun and upbeat, but the chorus breaks everything. I think this is the only Switchfoot song I've been disappointed in ever. |

I love this song. They played it for us at the concert I went to in June, and I honestly don't really remember it from then. I like to think of it as a sequel to We Are One Tonight, because it gives me the same feeling when I listen to it even though the songs aren't quite about the same thing. They feel related. |

I love this song... It's funny, I saw mutemath in concert when they opened for Switchfoot earlier this year, and didn't really like them... then this past month they showed up on my Pandora radio, and I've liked them since. :) |

I typed the lyrics from listening to the song, so if anyone can correct me that'd be great. This song is stuck in my head a lot... I think it's about this girl who he really wants to win, but she's hard to get, and he's having to do a lot to get her. ;) |

To me "my chest is in my head" is like that feeling whenever you're dizzy or pressed back in your seat.. I can't really think of how to explain it, but you know when it happens- it's a funny feeling. To me it's like he's saying he felt unread, or it was like he was watching himself.. Anyways great song. Wait, that's what I think about all of their songs.. |

This is one of my favorite songs by Switchfoot and sounded absolutely amazing in concert. This song makes me so excited and kind of gives me the feeling of standing under the stars with someone I love, kind of like a thought of "we're together and no one can stop us" or something. |

Aren't the lyrics a little off?
Anyways, a fun bit about this song- yesterday when I saw Switchfoot in concert and they played this song, Jon stopped in the middle of the "all the King's horses" part and said, "I'm sorry, but I just realized I rhymed left with left. I'm sorry." It was so cute! :p Switchfoot is amazing in concert. |
