Hmm.. to say what this song means to me... would mean restating the obvious analysis. I think I'm going to do it anyway. I think it's definitely about a past relationship. Are we sure "the district" isn't a metaphor? What for? I'm not sure. I think that the past love is seeing someone else. Perhaps he sees her with another guy? He finally puts everything into perspective and sees why she left. |

I really, really like this song-- I've just recently discover The Thrills through a friend.. and since no one has posted on this song... I guess I will!!! I might be wayyy off here.. but I have this feeling that it's about the first summer apart. Two people-- lovers?-- having to seperate. They don't want anything to change between them. Not their relationship.. not eachother's personalities. NOTHING! One of them is thinking that it's a way safer idea to just spend the summer together in San Deigo, but the other one isn't going for it. I don't really know.. alright. My favorite part "You build me up so high . . . You bring me down so low" -- I hope their relationship didn't change |
