A message sent or received by such a system. 3.To send (a message) by telex. --------------------------------------------------- And if the orignial name was supposed to be planet "Xerox", Xerox is essentially processing not a message or word like Telex, but processing a picture, so theyre both similar, just processing different things. I believe its essentially talking of communication, and the perceptions people have. Theres always atleast 2 sides to every situation, and each side believe theyre right, their opinion could be "crushed" or "forced" to be like youre, but their opinion/perception is always here/near. Everything and everyone is broken into pieces, theres no true communication and compromise, there is literally a schism between everyone in this world. The message is not getting through. |

I guess we all just have to wait til we progress. because we surely havent by now. People who committ or approve of war dont understand life. |

I think its almost being ironic, especially with the title. "A hallucination of the christmas skeleton pleading with a suicide bomber" Christmas skeleton = U.S. for example and suicide bomber = Terrorist (in general) and its almost as if he's saying that not only the "suicide bombers" are "fanatical" but us as well! We are just as fanatical about pushing our western ideas through into the middle east. That's why its almost ironic a HALLUCINATION of us PLEADING with the suicide bombers, because we are surely not speaking with them, pleading with them, or asking them WHY theyre doing it. Terrorists are human as well, theyre not born evil, they begin to believe a certain way based on their environment and what they experience/ so..instead of being fanatical ourselves, we should try to communicate, break down barriers (in which we are one of the only species able to) because otherwise, the fact that terrorists kill people is overshadowed by the fact that we and countless other countries are killing people as well, and we are definitely NOT setting an example. Killing isnt worth it. Its counterproductive to kill off a certain part of your species, seeing as the goal that other species are moving towards is SURVIVAL and PROCREATION. Because thats essentially what we're trying to do... "Wipe off/exterminate a certain group of people who think a certain way and kill others because you believe you're right" whoa...if thats the case...shouldnt we kill off every single government official as well? -Janet |

I believe he's talking about the act of dying being "lucky, easy and free" free from everything thats going on when we're alive, the injustice "is it real? I guess it's real enough, they got refrigerators full of blood" "Another century pointing guns at anything that moves" but then it says "Dont you weep, dont you weep for them, there is nothing as lucky (by getting away from it all) easy (it happens eventually to everyone, you dont have to do anything special to be released from life) or free (finally being released.) then he says "I've got some friends I barely see But we're all planning to meet We'll lay in bags as dead as leaves All together for eternity But don't you weep (Don't you weep for us) " Talking about how they'll all be together and combined into one after death, and dont weep for them because "there is nothing as lucky, as easy, or free" -Janet |

This song, to me, is not about porn. The song name "Nude", to me, implies a stripping away of wrongs which human beings perceive to be right. A person in this song has realized that symbols are not worth anything, that meaning should be attached to "objective existents" "Don't get any big ideas, they're not gonna happen" -- Forget about what you've realized, no one will believe what you say and what you will try to do. (the sum of evil would be much diminished if men could only learn to sit quietlty in their rooms) "You paint yourself white, and fill up with noise, but there'll be something missing" -- This describes the way everyone thinks towards everything else. this is the way human beings believe they should be. that the "spirit" of the humnan being is seperate, and we therefore attach importance to the vain, the ego, and the symbols to depict the truly undepictable. "now that youve found it, it's gone. now that you feel it, you dont. you've gone off the rails" -- the enlightenment about "is-ness" is fleeting. only at certain times is the person able to open their Mind at Large, and whenever you are in that state, you are (technically) mentally insane, which explains the "gone off the rails" part. "So don't get any big ideas They're not gonna happen"-- Authority telling you to not think and believe the way youve discovered, no one will believe you, suffering will happen, and thats all they need to continue the circle. "You'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking"--The authority figure, obviously, is against the protagonist. Cites the person as "crazy" and what they believe as "bad". and, as we all know, psycho-active drugs are, in fact, illegal, but is more innocuous than most prescription drugs now. I think that the generic meaning of this song is what MalFunkt said, dont let life bring you down and try to get someone to help you through it. But the specific case in the song, I think in the first verse its describing a homeless old man, depressed because of so much change waiting for his death/knowing its near("with the lorries rolling by", "and the buildings scrape the sky") and once he dies, hes "free" ("with the daylight in his eyes") The chorus, I think, is telling you that you shouldnt let things bring you down, because the stuff thats bringing you down is trivial ("its only castles burning") and to find someone who is or has been in your shoes to talk to you and help you so that you can change your life. I think the 2nd verse is describing a person dealing drugs and is blind to the repercussions of it or the effects of it ("blind man running through the light of night with an answer in his hand" (drugs in his hand)) And that he should find out the reality of what hes doing ("come on down to the river of sight and you can really understand") The police catches him or attemots to ("red lights flashing through the window in the rain can you hear the sirens moan?") and its describing how he gives up his selling/taking of drugs ("White cane lying in the gutter in the rain" (white cane slang for cocaine)) and that he feels alone because his 'friends' he knew because of drugs he doesnt hang with anymore ("as youre walking home alone") yes, just my interpretation. sorry if it sounds ridiculous. |
