I think in this song kurt is making fun of people interpreting the world into every song he's ever written. I get the feeling he was writing lots of meaningful-sounding words that worked well together without actually meaning anything. "I know I can make enough of the words for you to go along and sing your song" pretty much proves my idea. "I'm just writing crap but I know you'll find your own deep meaning in it" "Don't feel guilty master writing" sounds like a sarcastic message to all those people thinking "I don't understand the meaning in Kurts songs but I guess that doesn't matter - it's just cuz he was a genuis". It seams to me that would be something Kurt would have done. But then again, I could be wrong. Anyway that's what this song means to me and it's an amazing song. |

I simply think this song is about someone feeling unwanted and regreting they were even born. I really do not think Kurt would wright something like that about his own daughter!!! |

Okay, I think we've got enough people saying it's about his health problems... But I just wanted to say, I think this song doesn't have SUCH a deep meaning. When I listen to it, it's just like he's saying he's in such pain and nobody can help him. It sounds like he's screaming it out. And then the "warm milk" part sounds like he's so burnt out and tired of the pain. Just the feeling I get from the musik, but then of course this song could pretty much be about anything. |

I've got an idea... Since Lithium is that drug, could maybe the "I like it" lyric mean, he likes the Happyness found throug the drug, then "I miss you" he misses his real self the drug has replaced "I love you" but then, he loves the drug... "I kill you" he kills his real self. But - I don't really know anything about Lithium... Just an idea. |
