Alright as far as what i think this song means, i'll give it a shot. I think it's about a guy thinking about suicide, but there's a special girl in his life that's helping him through it. Your life. Is it a lie. When you get what you're looking for. Will your cravings subside. Or will you crawl into A homemade-casket An early tomb Lay down And give up inside She'd rather die basically it's saying he's looking for death, and will you give up and die, and crawl into an early tomb(self-explanitory). When you fall So spent from emotion She is what Brings you to your Feet Where challenges lie On the verge of destruction She pulls you back And she gives you wings this part is about the girl. when the guy can't handle emotion anymore, she is what gets him through, and gives him new hope "wings" Death wont hold you. As tight as she will. Can you feel her Burning through your veins She will always Live forever Can you bear the burden death won't comfort you as much as her, and she will always be there for you. And you'll turn your back And you'll patronize She's pleading And you will question Your every want Shes bleeding out the guy finally gives up, but she's begging him not to. he questions his actions but goes ahead with it anyway, and eventually she ends up killing herself too(not sure about this, but the "she's bleeding out" part makes it seem like it. anyways these are just my thoughts, i could be wrong or i could be right. |

I don't really know much about either of them, but i'm guessing maybe there was a movie starring both of them and there was a high speed chase type thing in it. I love this song. enough said, i sent this to my girlfriend and told her it was my song from me to her, it just describes so many of my feelings for her. This song coyld be abour sex or...it could be another song about a breakup "its never too late to be early or to try and maintain some scrap of integrity and certainty……I guess." it's never to late to forget what happened and try and keep some pride and dignity from what the girl did to you. Fuck you." 1977 was when the break up took place, it wa s along time ago so just forget it. the rest is pretty self explanitory, he won't apologize for what happened. "the Alamo has been penetrated and there is little hope for the white man so hop on your rainbow and ride it into oblivion." Ok, really no idea what this means, again this is what makes me think the song is about sex like somebody already said, maybe the rainbow could be referring to being gay, "hop on your rainbow and ride it into oblivion" and "there is little hope for the white man" maybe he is saying he's given up on women and there is little hope so he's turning gay? lol just a theory. "For all I care you can be early or late, what ever." again the orgasm theory, maybe saying it doesn't matter anymore now that the relationship has ended. that's just my theory on the song, of course it could mean something completely different. |

| This is a great song, just because it's not on the "Tell All Your Friends" cd, alot of people seem to ignore it. I personally love this song, and it really gets to me. I agree with what some people are saying that the lyrics could mean he's good friends with a girl who has a boyfriend and doesn't treat her right, or it could also mean he had a girlfriend who has broken up with him and is now with a new guy, but he doesn't think that the new boyfriend treats her right. Either way great song. | |
