This is my favorite Smashing Pumpkins song. To me, I think this song is about giving up everything you love for that one true person, hence "cast the pearls aside, of a simple life of need". I think its also about emotionally dying when the relationship takes a turn for the worst, or when it ends in general. And the part "ironies in peace" its like...you found peace with finding the one you love, but at the same time, it cause you so much pain when things get rough. MAd Love, Victoria |
