| This song is dark. I thought Dolly Parton was strictly a hillbilly country singer. I think I was wrong. I was riding in the car with my mom and she put in one of her cds and this song came on and ever since I've been hooked. I'm not a Dolly Parton fan but this song has an interesting feel to it. | |

This song is amazing. I think it's about a spiritual encounter with Jesus. Back in the day (2000 years ago) if you gave someone a fishing boat you gave them more than a cool gift. A fishing boat provided a way for man to survive. The fishing boat Jesus built was his life and the sacrifice of that life. A gift he gave to all of mankind that we can survive. And He was saying to them all "If anyone wishes to come after me , he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake, he is the one who will save it.
