Gold fever. The sun is gold, money, fame, kapitalism even. It makes a man into a unfeeling robot. As soon as he gives in to the temtation of being really rich and famous, he spends more and more money to meaningless things while other people don't even have enough money to buy themselves food. That's what the guilty feelings are about. The struggle against capitalism: Come let the truth be shared, no one ever dared To break these endless lies, secretly she cries |

I think this song is about someone that the writer hasn't met yet. He still has to meet the one he truly loves. But not knowing that person doesn't mean he can't write a song for her. ("I'll be there as soon as I can") But it can also be a song about someone who just had a rather heavy relationship and has just met a great new girl. He kinda hopes that she is the one and he is really wanting to try a relationship with her, but first he has got to get things in place for himself. One thing that is sure is that his life before the writing of this song wasn't too good. He has to start over and he is hoping for a better life from now on, with a new person. |
