this song shows the fans point of view as well as the artists -he understands how poeple feel when they meet someone that inspires them, they all just want a bit of him("take, take, take") because it means so much to them when they meet him/some other artist - coming from the artists point of view because he is trying to tell fans that he does appreciate them very much, but he cant give himself up for them, he is only human afterall- "so she said to me “I need to go to sleep” And it seems so mean. It's almost as if she Did not appreciate How cool I was being." ....well maybe anyways |

i really dont think that this song is about having an imaginary girlfriend at all. the little ghost is someone that only he sees because no one else notices her, maybe she isnt a celebrity so people take no notice of her and only notice him, yet he cant believe how lucky he is to have her - "Every morning I awoke And I see my little ghost Wond'rin' if it's really her that's lying there I lean to touch her and I whisper But not brave enough to kiss her When I held her I was really holding air" - she wasnt who he thought she was in the end? but he wont give up on her - "it's not yet time to meet the lord above" but hey, thats just what i think, and im not too good at this so i'll shut up now |

i love this song, i agree with you mxmattd. Wake up You're dreaming I can't stand your screaming Drowning out these prayers Just some words without meaning Spare all the preaching My secret's worth keeping No one understands like I do Keep out of reach I'm your leading deletion Hide behind these masks Though they still see right through them - I think this is song is about how you pretend everything is ok and you just ignore how you really feel so people won’t notice, you just get on with your life and push everything aside and hope no one notices that you’re unhappy and you don’t want to confide in anyone because they wont understand, they’ll try to tell you that they know what you’re going through etc but you know that they will never understand because only you can but secretly you wish you could give up the act and just let it all out. but maybe not, im no good at this sort of stuff, but thats what it means to me. |

i always love the build up towards the end of the song, i just picture the end of the world i spose, i think it depicts the panic and confusion etc. that everyone would be feeling as it happened 'change in the air and they'll hide everywhere and no one knows who's in control' that probably makes no sense to anyone, but thats what i think :P its a perfect end to the album, it really is an amazing song |
