| i think this song is about his revenge on a girl that cheated on him. he had this 'meaningless screw' to get back at her and the girl he had sex with fell in love with him 'to the love, i left my conscience pressed' he didnt care and did it anyway 'love never wanted me, but i took it anyway' he didnt want her to fall in love with him, but she did anyway. now he feels bad for not feeling bad about it. but doesnt regret it because he's still angry at the girl who cheated on him | |

call me stupid if you want but i dont think this song is about a bad relationship at all. just an interesting good one 'You only hold me up like this, coz you dont know who i really am' i think this means she doesnt feel like he's as good as she thinks he is and he fears if she knew how 'crappy' he was she wouldnt like him anymore, which i think is a lot of peoples fears at the start of a relationship with someone you really like 'Sometimes I just want to know what it's like to be you' he doesnt understand her and wants to know what shes thinking which is what most guys are like anyway 'we're making out inside crashed car' its not about their surroundings anymore its about him and her and it wouldnt matter if the world was crashing down. 'we're sleeping though all our memories' they dream about the memories they are creating together, why should sleeping be a bad thing? 'i used to waste my time dreaming of being alive, now i only waste it dreaming of you' this line means he thinks about her all the time. he doesnt think highly of himself and know if he wasnt dreaming of her he'd only be wasting his time dreaming of something else. 'Turn off the lights and turn off the shyness' i dont think this is supposed to be sexual, i think this means turn off the tension and any axieties they might have because their shy. when someone likes someone a lot they are really shy around them, if they didnt like each other they wouldnt have that tension. 'all of our moves, make up for the silence' i think this line means they dont need to say anything to be completely happy in each other company. 'and oh the way your make up stains my pillowcase' this is a random thing which would mean abolutely nothing to anyone else but to him is a symbolism of her. its something he loves solely on the fact that its hers. 'like i'll never be the same' she's effected his life in away that he will never forget. |

i think this is about a girl back in chicago who he dated, she cheated on him, and he found out 'the pick up truck' but she didnt know he knew so he just avoided her and she didnt know why and she tried to get his attention 'every pane of glass that your pebbles tap' and 'every little tap on the shoulder' . but he knew she was lying to him all the time coz he knew the truth. in the end he gave her a piece of his mind, and finished with her she said 'oh well boy like you are overrated anyway, so save your breath coz i dont care about your feelings' 'loaded words and loaded friends are loaded guns to our heads' they said some really hurtful things to eachother he feels she wants him to apologies for the way he acted but he wont 'theres a light on in chicago and i know i should be home' he left home shortly after that. but he still thinks of her and misses her and wonders what she's doing right now, he wishes he was back at home with her. 'all the colours of the street signs, they remind me of the pick up truck out in front of your neighbours house' then he remembers what she did and realises he still hates her for it. |

| i mostly agree with 'and how' about this song. this is my favourite mudvayne song. but something that hasnt been mentioned yet. i think when they say 'mother of creation' and 'mother of distruction' they are talking about the same thing like say they were on about god, god created the world, he created us, but now we are distoying ourselves therefore his own creation is its own distruction so he being the creator and the distructor. they are on about a different type of religion though like paganism or something but god is the best way i can think of to discribe it | |
