this song is a great song. CLASSIC. i think i understand it. he sees a RED door and he wants it painted BLACK. think back to the era when this song came out. who was the free world fighting? COMMUNISTS! what colour symbolized communisim? RED! black symbolizes death. i think it's a song about how we hate the communists. well, i love this song. but i also support the states (though i am canadian). i don't know. it's a great song. presidents can't fight in the war because they are a national icon. i wouldn't want prime minister paul martin fighting in a war.
