I think this song is about some overpriced, souless, tacky club where people think that they are somebody just because they're in there. The kinda place that is full of gold digging girls with short skirts who get bought by fat millionaires and rich kids because they can afford to buy them the rip-off drinks. Inhaling thrills through 20 dollar bills is so obviously snorting lines of cocaine through rolled up dollars (as rich cokeheads do.) I'm guessing the 'how long does it take to get a drink in this place' is because Ben, seeing through all this fake tack and not being female or looking like a millionaire, is being ignored by the pretentious barstaff who will serve the latter first. Good song, one of the more depressing songs on the album though... it always makes me feel cold. |
