Armor for Sleep – The Truth About Heaven Lyrics 20 years ago
this is the second song to the concept album. car underwater marks his death, and in this song, he talks about how he has now visited heaven.

"Walk past my grave in the dark tonight,
Saw the stone and the note you left for me,
To answer your question I just had to leave,
I just had to leave"

he talks about how he walked by his grave to see a note left for him by his girlfriends....he then answers her question of "why did you have to go?" by saying..."i just had to leave"

"But that’s not why I’m here,
I came out here to tell you it rains in heaven all day long,
I want to find you so bad, to let you know I’m miserable up here without you"

but then he says he's come down to tell her that heaven is no good because he is without her. he wants to tell her how miserable he is up there without her.

"Found my way back in the dark tonight,
Couldn't wake up, not right next to you,
I traded forever to just hear you say the sound of my name"

once again, he ellaborates on how he misses her...

"Don’t believe that its better when you leave everything behind,
Don’t believe that the weather is perfect the day that you die,
Don’t believe that the weather is perfect the day that you die"

this is where he is telling her not to commit suicide because he realizes how bad it sucks to be dead.

Armor for Sleep – Car Underwater Lyrics 20 years ago
omg...is it that nowdays, no one can listen to all of the music and see into an album? this is the first song of the concept album that armor for sleep made about somone dying and coming back as a ghost; hence, "what to do when you're dead." this first bit of the story tells about how the guy commits suicide by drowning himself in a car underwater and wishing for his love to forget about him and move on.

dude, i already posted what the whole song is about above. you can't just take 1 part of a song and expect that part to be what it is about, you have to look at the whole thing. read my analysis. it's not about being a rockstar and having fans that think he is fake.

Senses Fail – Let It Enfold You Lyrics 20 years ago
hahaha...dude, for a band that can come up with some pretty good instrumental music, senses fail can suck sometimes. they have some of the most retarded lyrics ever, like in this song. the bridges of their songs are lame...they are so stupid. also, they have no variety in sound. all of their songs sound similar. listen to a good band, like the used. senses fail is wannabe emo. come on people.

hahaha...this whole discussion has gotten completely ridiculous. some little girl takes like 2 lines from this song, says how they may be referring to religion, and then everyone else decides to follow her. if you feel like interpretting a song, you might want to try to decipher more than 2 lines...she completely skipped the first verse. oh, wait, well, maybe the first verse isnt about religion, and then the 2 lines from the second verse are. yeah...maybe gerard was writing about something and thought about religion real quick and scribbled it in. come on people. why can't you come up with your own thesis for what the song means. i can tell you right now that it is not about religion. get real.

The Used – Let It Bleed Lyrics 20 years ago
i dunno if any of you are write about what this song means so far. no one is taking into account how bert says, "MAMA, fill your lungs with smoke for the last time." it is obviousely not just about bert, but probably has something to do with his mom. also, has anyone thought that it might actually be about smoking? i mean, it does talk alot about fire and smoke.

after looking at this song, i questioned if bert has quit smoking. think about it. he would be saying that smoking has intoxicated him, like it put a cut on him. he picks at the scabs and bleeding, meaning that he does it every once in a while and assumes that it is okay. quitting is a positive thing ("positive scab") that won't go away (it isn't healing because he still wants to do it and does it occasionally). it then, "hits him in the face," meaning that he just did it. it is a burning bridge that is misleading because it looks cool and makes you feel good, but you end up dying from lung cancer. then, the poison is more potent when you light the ciggarrette with the flame.

he then says to let it bleed and take the red for what it's worth. he says to go ahead and smoke, but remember that smoking (the red) will cause you to die eventually, so you should take it for what it's worth. watch the fire, or watch your habits and do it one last time and quit (fill your lungs with smoke for the last time).

also, the second verse could be saying that people (the fire department) are making an effort to stop the use of tobacco, but they can't do it. he wants them to put him out because he is doing it and is essentially on fire. ALSO, HERE IS A KEY PART IN FIGURING OUT THE PUZZLE TO THE SONG. He says, "the most that i can do for you is keep on lying. it's not a lie if you can let it sing." this somehow goes hand in hand with the part in the bridge where he says, "if you feel like dying, you might want to sing." maybe this song was to his mom (even though she died) saying that he smokes and that the most that he can do to help her is keeping lying to her or something. maybe his mom smoked too, and that is why she died and that is why he started smoking. remember that he does say "mama" in the last chorus. he would'nt just add that in there for no reason, it has to do with his mom somehow. this is really confusing...i dunno. just think about it and tell me what you think.

The Used – I'm a Fake Lyrics 20 years ago
hahaha...i find it kind of funny how all of you are retarded. theres a strict framework of everyone saying, "this song is about drugs, being fake, ...blah blah blah." if you can't read this song and understand what it is about firsthand, you are a complete idiot; this is one of their most cut and dry songs. let us begin...

the intro:

if the intro doesn't give away what this is talking about, i don't know what does. he is obviousely aiming this at cutters due to the fact that he says, "my sad, sorry, selfish cry out to the cutter..." he is saying that the act of cutting, although it "scabs, drys, flakes, and heals" leaves a scar. in the world of sin (seen through a religious mind), he is saying that cutting, even though it may not seem that bad, is still a sin. he says it's as bad of a sin as commiting suicide, and having premeridal sex (coming from, "whats left but a section of pigmy size cuts, MUCH LIKE A SLUE OF A THOUSAND UNWANTED FUCKS." the intro is basically trying to get the point across that cutting is a sin.

verse 1:

"Look at me.
Can you tell,
By the way I move and do my hair?
Do you think that it's me,
Or is it not me?
I don't even care."

here, he describes someone that seems perfect and fixes them self up, struts like they are everything, and fixes their hair up like they are something (sort of like preppy people). then he is saying, would you think that i would be the type of person that would cut? do you think that thats me? or do you think that it's not me...i dont even care.

"I'm alive, I don't smell.
I'm the cleanest I have ever been.
I feel big, I feel tall, I feel dry.
Dry."

he then goes on to say how this person is alive, takes a bathe and wears perfume to smell good for everyone and look like they are clean. he then explains that they feel big and tall...like they are everything, on the outside, by their looks, they seem perfect. he then adds in the adjective, dry. they feel dry...as in that they cut and bleed and their veins dry up. they feel dry of all the hate that they have because they cut, let their hurt run out through the blood, and their veins are dry.

the chorus:

"Just look at me, look at me now.
I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm fake, I'm fake.
Just look at me, look at me now.
I'm a fake, I'm a fake, I'm fake, I'm fake."

through this song, that "perfect" person is saying that they are fake. he is making the inference that people who appear to be beautiful and look good on the outside can have their dropbacks. what you see isn't what is always true, people are fakes. the person in this song is one of those people that thinks they are perfect and all that, but people don't know about how this person cuts. they are a fake.

verse 2:

"Do I drink?
Do I date?
I've got perfect placements.
All my ink satisfied,
In your eyes.
I'm the biggest fan that I've got right now.
I made sure that I look how I wanted to look.
The people around me,
The people surround me."

once again, he is giving a description of this person who tries to look their best and be perfect. they don't drink or date, so people think this person is a good person. they look good, so people like them, they surround them.

bridge:

"My stomach hurts now,
And all tied off in lace.
I pray, I beg, for anything to hit me in the face.
And this sickness isn't me.
I pray to fall from grace.
The last thing I see is feeling."

the bridge shows the true feelings that this person expresses for them self. the cutting addiction is horrible. this person hate it, their stomach hurts, and they tie it off in lace to try to help. they want to overcome it; they want something to hit them in the face and get them over it. cutting isn't supposed to be part of who they are, and doing it is making them fall away from god because it is a sin. so they finally get up and tell people that they are a fake.

to make it short, it's about someone who looks perfect. you think there is nothing wrong with them and that they are completely sinless. but, if you knew who they were and knew that they cut, you would know they are a fake. the true beauty and worth of a person is on the inside...not looks.

peace...
