Can't believe how few posts there are for BSP! This is a love song about an Antarctic ice shelf which was in the news a while ago. Oddly enough, ice shelves don't interest me, so I'm not going to pretend I know what exactly happened in case someone corrects me. This is easily my favourite song off Open Season, I really like the bass line. |

| The Wrens – This Boy Is Exhausted Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Yeah, it's about the band's struggle since the release of Secaucus, not only with Grass, but also because they were struggling to write good songs - "Cause I can't write / what I know / It's not worth writing / I can't tell / A hit from hell from one sing-along" "But then once a while / We'll play a show / Then it makes it worthwhile" should (according to the band) be taken literally, in other words, they'd play a lot of shit shows and " but then once a while", they'll play a good one. I also read somewhere that they wrote this about some guy from Interscope who was looking into signing them (as a piss take), and then they played it to him! Obviously, they weren't signed. |

I think the way that Michael sings (or mumbles if you like) in this song is part of what makes it so great. I always get the feeling of nostalgia when I listen to this, but I've no idea why. |

That's because this song *is* the original version of Boys, You Won't. Miss Me was recorded for a Drive-Thru sampler, and the band are not keen on this version of the song at all. I also think it's rather horrendous, especially when you compare it with Boys, You Won't. |
