| The Clash – The Guns of Brixton Lyrics

Correct me if I’m wrong someone, but isn’t this song about yardie gangsters? For any non-Brits reading this, yardies are ruthless Jamaican gangsters, so called because they have a reputation for shooting people on their own doorsteps i.e. in the ‘yard’ of their homes. Most yardie gangs operate in or near Brixton in south London. |

I haven't actually heard this song yet, but I know it’s gonna be shit. I’ve just come on here to warn people not to bother buying it - a mistake I have made several times in the past when Oasis released a new record. |

| The Doors – Back Door Man Lyrics

His ‘midnight dream’ is when, after everybody is fast asleep in bed, he pulls on his specially made large-crouched women's underwear and dons his best frock, and only then does he feel like the woman he dreams of being. The chicken is a metaphor for a vagina, in that it is the opposite gender equivalent to a ‘cock’ and a different kind of food to ‘pork’, and he is hinting that he would prefer to have a vagina than a cock. The word ‘eat’ back then wasn’t associated with oral sex. If it was then he would be implying that all the other men are homosexual because they like to eat pork. |

This song appears to have a double meaning. If you read the lyrics again carefully you will see that it is really about a secret crossdresser who is struggling with to come to terms with his sexuality. |

The Mersey does flow through Manchester, but it is a river that is always associated with Liverpool - a town most mancunians despise. This song is obviously a piss take on Liverpool (river cool). Mani once said in an interview he liked this song because all the dregs form Manchester end up in Liverpool. |

Probably the greatest and most honest song that anyone has ever sang - and it only contains 2 lines. Just reading the lyrics to this song can make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
The previous poster is the only one that seems to understand what he's saying though. |

| Oasis – D'You Know What I Mean? Lyrics

To me this was an incredibly disappointing first single from oasis's hugely awaited third album. The day I bought this single was the day I stopped being an Oasis fan. This is one of the shittest songs of the last ten years. Did Noel think he was being clever ripping off one of his own songs because people were slagging him off for ripping off other people’s songs. I'm talking about wonderwall. The whole song is the same chords from the start of wonderwall repeated over and over again untill the end. What a pile of shite this single turned out to be. It all went downhill from here. |

| Catatonia – Road Rage Lyrics

I've always thought that this song had something to do with Tracy Andrews, the woman who claimed her boyfriend had been viciously stabbed to death during a road rage attack, and who went on national television appealing for witnesses. The story made it to the front pages of all the newspapers and then a few days later, in a dramatic twist, she was arrested and charged with his murder. It turned out they had a stormy relationship and after a row broke out driving home from the pub, she exploded into a fit of rage and ended up stabbing him repeatedly in the middle of the road.
It would be too much of a coincidence for there not to be a connection. |

I'm sorry to disappoint you my friend, but the 'armies' they are speaking out against is the IRA and other paramilitary organizations that were active in Northern Ireland at that time. |

I'm getting back into punk at the moment and this is my favourite punk song. When I heard this song the first time round, as a kid, I was a bit confused because I thought it was called alternative ULSER!
think your right about white noise, the previous poster. |
