And here I thought "Boston" was the best they could do. Silly me. |

| Jonas Brothers – When You Look Me In the Eyes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Well, the meaning is obvious. No mystery, it's not as if the lyrics are cryptic or anything. This is certainly the best song by the brothers Jonas thus far...but then again, how hard is it to top songs like SOS and Year 3000? Not a difficult feat. This song has some emotion in it, and I like the direction they are headed in with this song, moving away from songs about text messaging and flux capacitors. I'm sick of people obsessing over these guys, though. The lead singer's voice gets irritating fast, the drums and guitars are uncreative and repetitive. And I am a guy, so maybe it's just hard for me to see this, but I really don't see what's so good looking about these guys. Just another group the media is shoving down our throats. |

| BrittleWings, "Did I really lose my way, or are you afraid" is on the album version as well, I do believe. | |
| The Fray – Some Trust Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's on their one of their original EP's, Morningstar xx. It's the 'Reason EP', the second of two they released independently before Epic signed them. They have since reissued 'Reason', just go onto iTunes and click "Reason EP". These songs are a little edgier than How to Save a Life, but honestly, I like most of these tracks better than some from the full length. There's a lot of meaning in this song. I think it's about learning how to trust someone, but then that's just me. |

| Brand New – Flying at Tree Level (Version 1.0) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Does this song sound like a slowed down version Alien Ant Farm's cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" to anyone else or am I just going crazy? Awesome song, but I can't get it out of my head that the guitars sound so similar. |
|
| Panic! at the Disco – We're So Starving Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Uhh, yeah. Clearly, it's an introduction song if you read the lyrics at all. It's like a minute and a half long and that's where the supposed title for the new album, "You Don't Have to Worry", comes from. Mystery solved? I like it, it's kind of another song in their snarky, sarcastic manner. |

| Tegan and Sara – You Wouldn't Like Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The long distance/internet relationship thing is a possibility but I feel like it's more of a situation where 2 people that maybe were extremely close have drifted apart because one changed, the narrator. The narrator isn't really liking the change ('I feel like I wouldn't like me if I met me') basically meaning that if she were to meet herself on the street one day, she wouldn't like 'her' and she thinks that the person she has drifted apart from would do the same. | |
| Brand New – The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is one of my favorite songs of all time. And I have no idea what it means. I think Jesse meant for us to be stumped. | |
| The Forecast – One Hundred Percent Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It sounds to me like this is a mid-fight moment. And he's just saying that he gave the relationship his all... This is my favorite forecast song, and it's in high rotation on my ipod along with West Coast, And We All Return to Our Roots, and Some Things Never Change, so be sure to check those three out too. The Forecast rocks. |

| The Hush Sound – Out Through The Curtain Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love this song. It's one of my favorites on the record along with Magnolia and Wine Red. I can definitely see it has something to do with regret and/or bad memories. He talks about how he pretended he was where he wanted to be and just didn't do anything about it. And then the chorus is "Won't let it pass me by again." He won't let his life pass by him again. This song is amazing. "Dream every night that one would come true But only bad ones ever do Won't let it pass me by again Won't let it pass me by again" |
|
| Brand New – Logan to Government Center Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I don't live remotely near Boston and I still get it. It's not hard, you just have to piece the title in with the lyrics. It's a girl that either he is dating but she doesn't like him back, or he likes her and she doesn't like him...something like that. And she lives in Boston. Logan is Boston's area airport. Government Center is the area of Boston where several Government agencies are based. One would take the blue line to travel from Logan to Gov't. If that was planned on, I dunno but it's clever. So anyway it's basically about him missing some girl in Boston. Yeah. | |
| Pompeii – Relative is Relative Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The best song on their album, sounds like it could be a single. The chorus is so catchy. The lyrics are very thoughtful...and make you think. The meaning has got to relate somehow to not knowing something, or not knowing if something will work out ("If all else fails..."). I love this song. Can't believe I'm the first to comment. | |
| Armor for Sleep – Remember To Feel Real Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Well if you paid any attention to the rest of the album it's obvious what this song is about. It's him reflecting on more stuff after death... This time not about a relationships But about his 'friends', he's questioning whether they even really knew he existed. He's saying he would have done anyting for them, but asking whether they ever cared about him. Lollernet probably got it the best out of everyone here. It's a concept album, hence "What To Do When You Are Dead"...a whole album of explanations of death, starting with the suicide (Car Underwater) he later regretted, missing the one he loves (Truth About Heaven), and later reflecting on the last things he said/wished he had said to his ex or whoever she is in Awkward Last Words. It's a story. |

| The Fray – Look After You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| One of the best songs on the album, right there with How to Save a Life. Actually, according to iTunes, I've listened to it more than HTSAL. It's definitely a love song...he's telling the girl that he'll take care of her ('look after you') no matter what happens. I hope this is the next single. It'd do great on the charts. Maybe not as good as How to Save a Life. But. Amazing song. Love it. | |
| 30 Seconds to Mars – From Yesterday Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I love this song. The whole 'From Yesterday' thing defnitely makes me think it's about the past catching up to you. 'From yesterday, it's coming, from yesterday, the fear'. This is the third song I've bought by 30STM off itunes from a Beautiful Lie. It's definitely the best, and I think it means the most. (And it doesn't matter if you think it's sin or 'shit' but it's 'shit' because i accidentally got the edited version and it's blanked out @ that part.) | |
| Fall Out Boy – The Carpal Tunnel of Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love it. I was reminded of "Saturday" when I heard the 3rd verse screaming...though the songs aren't really alike. This is good. Not their best, but good (It's not gonna be a single). I think that these lyrics are clever, especially in the 3rd verse when there are 2-3 rhymes in each line. They pull the screaming off well. Usually I hate it but it sounds good when FOB does it. Infinity On High ***2-6-07*** go Fall Out Boy |

| Fall Out Boy – This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I don't get what everyone's saying about this being overly poppy. So it's not TTTYG or FUCT. Isn't that supposed to be...oh I don't know...GOOD? It's different, but really, it's got the same elements as every other single of theirs that was eqaully poppy: "Grand Theft Autumn", "Sugar, We're Goin' Down", "Dance Dance", "A Little Less Sixteen Candles", and "Saturday" (My favorite) : A good hook, an extremely catchy chorus, a drum beat that won't quit, incredible background vocals, and some great guitars...so don't be saying they've gone pop this time. Because it's just like before. So until they start rapping or singing stuff the record label wrote for them (Fall Out Boy CLEARLY wrote this, and no, Guitarpunk150, it's not "completly abandoning what you stand for to let record companies force you to write completely radio friendly songs") It's Fall Out Boy. It's maturity. It's growth. They're expanding into new sounds. I think they call it being creative or something. Now I'll get off my soapbox. The meaning: I think this one line sums it up "Bandwagon's full, please catch another," telling people/bands etc to stop jumping on the bandwagon. Because really, FOB was the first of the 'scene' to make it mainstream that I know of. And now all these other bands are making music exactly like theirs. Yeah, I'm done with my rant. Sorry for length. | |

| Brand New – Sowing Season (Yeah) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| By the way, does it matter if it's drinking or drugs??? I mean drinking doesn't make sense there, drugs does...but it SOUNDS like drinking...(it sounds NOTHING like drugs) and since they wasted the booklet on weird pics of...was that a wolf or a bear or some kind of mountain lion or something? Not good with animals so I dunno and it doesn't much matter. The point is they didn't include the lyrics, so unless lacey signs on and tells us, we'll really never know. honestly. | |
| Brand New – The Archers Bows Have Broken Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Well said, Pong. This album is amazing, though I'll admit it took a 2 listens before I liked the songs. Brand New, I think, is an acquired taste...and every new album, you have to re-acquaint yourself with them...because it's so different. This one is either political or religious..or maybe both. "Who do you carry the torch for" could be a shot out at the parties...or it could be between the devil & God. Though, "The God I believe in never worked on never worked on a campain trail" leads me to think both (That's my favorite part of the song other than the AWESOME chorus. yeah) This is arguably the best song on the album. It's the most radio friendly, that's for sure. I can definitely see this as a single. Hope it is. Would make for a sick video. |

| Brand New – Sowing Season (Yeah) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is pretty great. I just got the new album today right after best buy opened...and I gotta say, this is pretty sick. I've been anticipating this album from the second I found the release date and the title. It's totally different from the old Brand New...they've evolved so much. It's almost hard to call them emo now because of this huge growth since 'Deja' (Which, if I remember, was MILES away from '01's 'Your Favorite Weapon' but in an extrememly good way) but it's a change for the better. I didn't realize they could get any better. Sowing Season--the first single--is one of the best on the album. I think this song is about 'cultivating' new relationships...whether with friends or lovers or both...and how easily they're lost. "Was losing all my friends and I got them back" and here "Time to get the seeds and put them in the cold ground It takes a while to grow anything Before its coming to the end yeah" It's about him having trouble planting new relationships and making them grow because they keep ending before they've even begun. |

| The Fray – Dead Wrong Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The meaning is almost obvious. It's about when he decided to start a band. Everyone disapproved of the life and lifestyle it would entail. But he thought it was his calling and what was best for him all along. He's proving all of the naysayers (his family??) wrong with this song. "You said it for my sake, that I would not lose my way". His family and friends already have other plans for him that he's not ready to commit to. "Mine is not a new story but it is for me," he never realized it would happen. "Did I really lose my way or are you afraid?" "You thought I'd lost my way." " | |
| Jack's Mannequin – Dark Blue Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song could be interpreted in many ways...and the 'Dark Blue' is a reference to a lot of things. I'm almost positive it's about a girl. 'Dark Blue' is a refrence to 1) the sky at night (Obviously) 2) The girl (her eyes are dark blue?), 3) The feeling he's getting. "Dark Blue, Dark Blue have you ever felt alone in a crowded room? Well I'm here with you." She's lonely, he's trying to show her that he's there and he cares about her. "The world could be burning and burning down" means he doesn't care what happens...he just wants to be with the girl. | |
| Green Day – Wake Me Up When September Ends Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Is this song the next single? | |
| Green Day – Longview Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
There are a lot of metal fans in my school so when they were all talking about green day so much like 2 or 3 years ago, I just assumed they were another slipknot kinda thing....n slipknot freaks me out...so i kept my distance from Green Day until I heard Boulevard of Broken Dreams and liked it. Eventually I worked up the courage to listen to their older stuff. Holiday is my favorite on American Idiot.......but they have so many albums and so much to listen to. I finally got Dookie and plan to get each Green Day album periodically as I see it. And by the way, does anyone here know what the fourth single from "American Idiot" will be? |

| The Killers – Andy, You're a Star Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I've SEEN an interview with flowers and he doesn't seem gay AT ALL. He seemed like the US's version of like....how can I say this....um...a normal 20's guy...I guess. What this song seems like to me is that Flowers is playing the character of someone really needy and dependent and he's looking up to Andy as a friend, maybe Andy's a jock, or maybe not even popular, just someone Flowers wants to be friends with and...Andy doesn't want to be friends but Flowers won't let it go and starts stalking him. And maybe the girl in his car ("IN A CAR WITH A GIRL, PROMISE ME SHE'S NOT YOUR WORLD"), maybe that's not Andy's girlfriend. It could be his best friend and Flowers is jealous of that. We have to remember, these r the Killers and their lyrics often have multiple and/or hidden meanings. | |
