Streetlight Manifesto – The Receiving End of it All Lyrics 18 years ago
I also believe this song is about a failing relationship, but somewhat stronger, it's about abuse I think.

"How can anybody treat somebody so?"

"She said it hurts too much
I said it will never hurt enough
No one will ever see these cuts
No one will ever call this bluff"
Obviously, this is about the guy abusing her, but no-one knows, because 'No one will ever see these cuts.'

"I'd like to do my part to help a friend in need."
This points out that the 'me' in the song is not the abusing person.

Strike Anywhere – Asleep Lyrics 20 years ago
I think this Thomas is trying to say that we should do something about the problems with our society.
We should 'wake up' and do something, not waiting for something to happen

Porcupine Tree – Lazarus Lyrics 20 years ago
Me and my friend just saw Porcupine Tree live.
They played this song, and it was awesome, even better then the CD version. Steve Wilson really has an awesome voice.
Anyway, He explained a few songs, Lazarus being one of them. He said something like: "This is as close to a lovesong as Porcupine Tree can get, and it's a pretty fucked up love song. Because in this song, one of the lovers is dead. The dead mother sings this to her son." Or something like that.
In any case, it is about a dead mother and her child.

A Wilhelm Scream – Dreaming of Throwing Up Lyrics 20 years ago
Hm.. I think he's drinking because he went trough something difficult, like a failed relationship.
I think 'It's not alive, but not dead.' refers to the relationship he and his girlfriend now have, as opposed to what they had.
Anyway, I think this song is about relationships.

Rise Against – Dancing for Rain Lyrics 20 years ago
Damn.. made a typo..
1. "what if it all disapears in the shadows?
now reach for the stars"

SHOULD be: What if it all dissapears in the shadows, that reach from the stars.

Rise Against – Dancing for Rain Lyrics 20 years ago
Ok.. These lyrics aren't 100% correct, so I'll post the correct versions of the parts that are wrong.

1. "what if it all disapears in the shadows?
now reach for the stars"

SHOULD be: What if it all dissapears in the shadows, that reach from the start.

2. (Has been said) "We drink the air but it's so not the same."

SHOULD be: We drink the air but it's still not the same.

3. (not too sure about this one) "the waters come but the fire still rages on here"

Could be: The water's calm but the fire still rages on here.

4. "you've let me try but i'm still breathing "

SHOULD be: You've bled me dry, but I'm still breathing.

Cleared that up, moving on to the song.

I think it's about problems that have been going on for a long time.
"this drought bleeds on now were dancing for rain " means that the problems continue, while we're searching for answers.

That what I think.
Rise Against is the greatest band ever..
