| This reminds me of a relationship I was in that I didnt know how to get out of. I was comfortable but not happy, and despite it only being 5 months into it for some reason our families had bonded like it had been 5 years. On top of that I couldnt really put my finger on anything that was wrong with the relationship I just knew it didnt feel like it should. I was on my way home from work one day and I got stuck in traffic near the 91 interchange and it was hardly moving so I turn on the radio and about 20 seconds of some song finishes and then I hear for the very first time the acoustic kroq version of Foo Fighters - Everlong and it hit me so hard I pulled onto the side of the road to kill the motor. As I sat there and listened to this song I couldnt help but wish out there amongst the gridlocked cars that someone was listening to the same song and feeling the same way and we could just run away. Towards the middle of the song a girl did pull over and sitting there listening to that song together everything felt ok. The traffic seemed to disappear instantly and the song seemed to last forever. As soon as the song ended there was some serious chemistry going and despite the fact that I got her number and we had that perfect moment I couldnt help but feel that she was in the same situation as me needing the same thing at the same time so I never called her. | |

Honestly this is exactly what it feels like when your in love and it really clicks. Not the initial lust that mimmicks real love that we all feel in the beginning but real love. I dont personally believe in this theory however If it were true I think phobia would refer to the reason he was crucified in the first place. He was crucified for his teachings and the fear his radical thoughts at the time inspired in the ruling class at the time. The King feared Jesus as his following grew and had him crucified in response. "The phobia viewed" Would then refer to the fact that the fears of the king were on full display as he sat on the cross in full view as a warning. The other context I could see is the fear the people jesus was trying to save had in following him. Many were skeptical and fearful that perhaps he wasnt the son of god and needed to have there phobias addressed and the only way to do that was to set the stage for his resurrection. Anyhow as I said I dont believe this personally Im nothing more than an informed aethiest of sorts. Date a mormon for a month and tell me if you still believe in god :) just kidding. |

Personally I think that the song could mean one of 2 things for me. The first could be about someone whose life has been so deeply rooted in war that they are more apart of that world than that of the world they lead during peace time. Therefore when the trumpets of war sound the call again he as much as he might regret or wish otherwise must answer that call. The second scenario I think about when I hear this song is about someone who is in a constant state of war within themselves. Someone who is such a prisoner to their emotions that whenever the proverbial trumpet calls they are forced to march and carry out what that feeling is leading them to do. Even though it may be wrong and even tho deep down he may not wish to, the bonds of war inside him are too strong to let him go. I dont know just my thought. s |

"To Me" this song is sums up the basic raw emotion of love. The body of the lyrics and the slow beautiful tone of the song literally makes the rest of the world and anything else around disappear and the listener is instantly taken back to the image of a face a smile a moment. This song is by far one of my favorites.... The original is awesome however if you havent heard it yet you must download the KROQ acoutsic version I remember hearing it for hte first time on the radio.....i was actually on the freeway driving home from college and w/ perfect timing i had just missed the DJ explaining what song it was and just caught on when the song was just satarting....so i got a feeling of "hey i know this song i think" Soon as i heard the first couple lines i realized what song it was.....and perhaps hearing the original song a couple times the fast paced tempo of the music kinda made me skip over the words a bit... But man when I heard the mello sound of the acoustic guitar and the song was slowed down a bit more the words cut me in two... So much so that I acutally pulled off the free way turned the motor off and sat there and listened for the first time to just what the song was saying... I must say there is not a more powerful lyric in my mind than "breathe out, so i can breathe you in, hold you in" will hold those lyrics in my head forever |

I know this has to be one of greatest daughter/father songs written......But I must say when i first heard this song....once it got started I was thinking what an awesome love song this is and how good it would be as a couples song. But the father/daughter reference obviously makes this not possible. So much love went into this song that it couldnt have been written about anyone other a father to a daughter. |

Great song. I personally bottle up emotions and i feel thats alot of what this song is about. The lyrics scream about thoughts and emotions that have not been expressed and the havoc that can cause on someones mind. The beginning loads you up with tension with the eerie tones the song produced.....Then the methodic fast passed drums ads to the already rising feeling inside. And with each regretful thought that is conjured up in your mind your filled witha rage that you cannot explain. You wish to be no one you wish to see no one you wish to feel no one. Disappear without a trace. why? because "your a book that cant be read" simply because you "let nobodoy in. " And what does this cause? Memories and faces fade to nothing leaving you feeling nothing inside. |
