| wow. i've always loved this song, but recently this guy dumped me for a girl thats way older than me, and a little older than him. and we actually hooked up in a movie theatre, and he just one day, after he told me he loved me months earlier, decided to just...go off and "fall madly in love" with this girl the same day we were together. "things just fell into place elsewhere"...overnight, im in the past... good stuff. so yeah . . . right on... this song definitely holds more meaning to me now. because im just left with making my feelings for him fade, so its like thanks, asshole. oh well, life goes on ... but yeah this song is awesome. | |

OKAY i figured out WHY the song is called "the blower's daughter" or so i think.... "and so it is just like you said it should be we'll both forget the breeze .most of the time" --- so i think the girl is saying 'hey, we had some good times and there will be times when we'll miss them so much, but it will pass' "and so it is the colder water" ---in another damien rice song, he uses cold water as a metaphor for suckiness, so theres that "the blower's daughter" ---the colder water, the blowers daughter... what does a blower's daughter create?? a breeze, a blower blows breeeeze!!!! :o) "the pupil in denial" ---the breeze, the blowers daughter, is the pupil (him) in denial; him wanting it all back and having those memories that she said (in the first place) will pass and so it is, "the blowers daughter" is technically the breeze... so the song is about the breeze; the memories and him having that moment where he just needs her and cant stop thinking about her |

oh goddd i can relate to this song... when a relationship ends, especially if it's because one of the two does something to fuck it up... its more than satisfying to say "fuck YOU buddy... you screwed me over and i've moved on... and i am happy, so BAH" :o) i like the part where she's like "i want all the details of the pain and misery that you are inflicting on the others i consider them my sisters and i'd like their numbers" because i sure as hell sympathize for any of the victims' spirits my ex kills. |
