On Friday for Memorial Day, my social studies teacher made a video to remember the veterns and those that made the ultimate sacrafice. He is a reservist, seen time in Iraq during the first war and was activated for all of my freshman year to fly CAP in NYC after 9/11. He used this song, and even though I had heard it before, I never thought about it this context, andit does make sense that the chorus could by "sung" by a slodier that never returned home.
