I can definitely relate to this song! I know how it is to try to impress a girl, to give her everything you've got so that she'll warm up to me. And I try to plan things out very carefully, and I feel like I've done a good job, but then I fail in the end. But even when I fail, I pick myself up and try again, no matter how hurt I am. I put on a happy face. And if I ever totally let me feelings come out (which I don't), I would probably beg her to hold me close, scream that I won't disappoint her. But it's never gotten to that point, so I just walk along, humming happy songs with happy lyrics. |

Oh, and the bad lyric writing? Who cares? Think about Shakespeare. He came up with his own WORDS for goodness's sake. But you won't find an English teacher who wouldn't have intercourse with him if he were still alive. It's all about the feel of the song. |

I may be a hardcore guy, and I may be one of the coolest people I know, and I may be able to pull off anything just because it's me, but I am not afraid to admit that I like this song. Maybe it's because I listened to it in the 6th grade (7 years ago) and it reminds me of a simpler time (though, of course, I didn't think it was simple back then). Or maybe I just like it. But whatever the reason, listening to this song brings me great pleasure. |

Actually, the word maladroit is in the English dictionary. It basically means "lazy." And I do think that anyone could relate to this song. You don't have to have been in love with a girl in Japan to relate to what is written. Have you ever liked a girl in a higher social class and knew there's no way you could ever be together? Same idea. |
