An idea: The lord of the boards refers the the lord of the beasts (I hope this is the right expression) who some believe embodies the male principle in pre-christian religious beliefs. The lord of the beasts has been turned into the devil with the christianisation of Europe. In present pagan groups he is also called the green man. What do you think? |
