| Really heart-wrenching. I'm not sure of what exactly it means, but it resonates with helplessness; being pushed around like the rocks by the currents. The whole song is about being pushed around and down (I love how he draws that word out in emphasis). Wing's won't help you up, down fills the gravity, gravity's pound. It could be about trying to pick yourself up from a horrible incident, but it seems like all of these elements drag you back down into your misery. | |

With all the images of rust and technology, it would seem to express the dismal realities of the human condition. The song seems to mourn for the wasted potential in all of us (machines rusting to breathe/Hopeless, helpless, deconstructing ourselves). When he talks about never finding a home, I think he means that we're never satisfied with ourselves. Instead of taking our inferiority in stride, we have this tendency to crumble (we're a tired nation). We want to be taken anywhere, because we have no home in ourselves (no sense of acceptance). The "nobody wants me here" seems to refer to ourselves more than anything--we don't want to be ourselves. We'd rather be somewhere else, away from our realities, and pretend to be anything. Disillusioned is a good word for the overall mood of the song. I dig it. |

Some peopel jsut try to complicate their songs with awkward and confusing lyrics, but this song is perfect as is. To me, i kind of got it as not so much a relationship, but a changing relationship. "Hold me," for me meant that they'll jsut stay together through all the chanegs they face, and that the future is later; worry about the present. Even though thigns will proabably be changed forever, they still have each other. |

I cannot beleive no one commented on this amazing song. The beginning caught me right away. The lyrics are pretty self explanatory; really sweet. I slowly started chipping away at this block of stone In an attempt to regain your attention Why won't you hear me out? I started out with some paper and pen and my apologies But every time I try to write to you I just can never find the words to explain I thoguht this just meant how he was with a girl, and she jsut got bored and lost interest. The whole chipping the block of stone is a way to make her remember what they sued to have. I'll put it right outside your window So it's impossible to ignore Will that be good enough for you?
