I love this song! The Weakerthans rule! I really want to see them live one day, but they never seem to come down to Florida =(
Anyhow I agree with most people that this song is about transitions and getting to know oneself, than realizing all the flaws, failures, and fears make up who you are. All you have is to accept them and in turn accept yourself. That's not a bad thing because in the end, "and I'm losing all these stupid games that I swore I'd never play. And it almost feels okay."
In the end everything is going to be Ok. I wish I rememberd that more. John K. Samson is a genius! I love the way he can put simple words to make something so meaningful, yet abstract. |
