Great song it makes me laugh. However I don't agree with what's it's saying, there is no such thing as "punk rock" It's simply another label to make people believe they are "unique" and "individual" while fitting right into the stereotype. |

one of the worst songs on the cd. I think the meaning is about how everyone is born crappy and needs to take charge of themselves in order to become a better person. But the way these lyrics and beats are set up makes the whole song corny. The more I examine their lyrics the more I wish they would expand more instead of just using simple rymes. |

man oh man open your minds. You can be pro America and still oppose the war, in america there is such a thing as free thinking. Perhaps you have of it? You have the choice to not blindly follow the government and believe everything they tell you. You think oil is worth human life? fuck you all, the whole war is based on LIES. Helping them my ass it seems to me like america needs to "help" everyone now. They don't even want our help, they practically spit in our faces. Bush can go to hell but i guess he isn't, God should be very proud of all the christian wisdom he's preaching and spreading.
I dont know much about avenged sevenfold but i agree that this song seems hostle to the left wingers who are trying to change his mind

I think b/c they are of armenian descent most likely christian. whenever they have a religious song only christian references are used. But personally i dont think they belong to any organized religion. they seem to think to freely for that. not saying that religions are bad, i'm just stating my opinion not putting down others' faith. |

i think the song is in Jesus' point of view. He is trying to convince Sully to believe in him, and Sully is saying "no that's not what I want." It seems like there are some small vague christian references from the bible on this album. In I fucking hate you it says "you pulled me down and crucified my name." I dunno..that's just my opinion |

agree with useYOURbrain..all but the christians or other religious people statement. Not all will judge others that way. The majority are insincere, but there are a few who are really devoted and serious. It's just creating a sterotype putting all religious people in a group like that. i think it's about religious leaders manipulating people into paying money. They claim it's for God but then they blow it off in a bar or buy a new car -hence the song title.
The singer here is saying he would rather keep the money because the God of the religion is not his God. |

simply because the song has Christian references in it does not necessarily mean it is about the Christian faith. If memebers of the band are christians, it is possible they write about a variety of topics while using sources from the bible. To me personally the song is about finding yourself about being lost, it holds no religous meaning because I am not christian. But it is still inspirational and empowering to me. But i think the band was leaning towards the uganda thing based from the video. |

In my opinion, this song is definately about Kurt's suicidal thoughts. He no longer had a passion for song writing " No thought was put into this , I always knew it would come to this." He thought it would just be better for everyone if he killed himself. He had absolutely no self-esteem " I have never failed to fail." |
