This song started as a mistake, quotes Roger Waters. I was working on some lyrics and wrote down, "breathe, breathe in the air, don't be afraid to care" and was about to toss it in the trash and Syd Barrett came over and said, thats a great song, thats what a song is, just write.

I was watching this video and the acrobat in the red jumpsuit is by a sign that reads "Musee d'...syndicat d' initiative" which means tourist office. I thought this video was shot in ireland, but seems to be by some french museum, any guesses ?

There is the full story on this written up elsewhere on the web, but is basically about the death of bonos friend who was from new zealand, and a Maori native I beleive. ONE TREE HILL is a place in NEw Zealand where the Maori believe the gods made life like the garden of eden. There are other references to Jara, but the song starts :We turn away to face the cold, enduring chill" that is poetry for death, we all die. "And when its raining, raining hard..." his friend died on a rainy night. The backside of joshua tree blows me away with a bottle of wine and my headset on. I think Vertigo is superficial POP music compared to this.
