this song is such a hidden gem. couldn't tell you what the hell it is supposed to mean, possibly Brian couldn't either? It seems very tongue in cheek random. Amazing nontheless. |

| Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – An Oak Tree Lyrics

isn't it 'despite initial fear ?'
anyhow i don't agree with above i think it's like all of sam's songs, more about the self and discovering who you are - than about a relationship. its about showing resilience, perhaps sam showing resilience in his music which is knocked for being 'an acoustic and a voice.' its saying despite being knocked back the tree is back next year stronger. personification of his battle and his music. |

If I could rape this song I actually would.
It's just amazing. Like people above said cleansing yourself. |

It's aload of bullshit that this song hasn't been commented on since 2005 yet Fall Out Boy sits up the top of the most popular lyrics. KIDS THESE DAYS.
This ain't a scene ..
SERIOUSLY who gives a fuck ?
Faithless and Chicane keep making music that makes people feel. |

| Luke Pickett – Empty Corridors Lyrics

Unrequited love presumably; saying you will always be there for someone despite them not feeling the same way. Yet that simplistic meaning doesn't do the song justice as it has so many different layers and the true meaning will probably remain with Luke Pickett himself. Still, if you haven't heard this .. download it now. |

I agree with Placebo711 because he sings the beginning of this song in a monotone voice, leaving his whiny voice; but then just breaks out on the last part "I'm medicated how are you?" and sings it with so much feeling. Gah. *shivers* |

this is an anthem for every person Placebo has ever appealed to - the outcasts to society, the anti dote to the mainstream. |

So maybe my own personal interpretation is wrong; but I kinda thought that this song was about a guy, who was sleeping with his girlfriend and as he was about to come, said something ridiculous like "i love you" *as i let it slip* and perhaps his girlfriend was thinking, are you ok? because it isn't something he would normally say.
IDFK that's what i got from it |

| Placebo – Song To Say Goodbye Lyrics

nancy boyo i highly doubt that this will be Placebo's final album, because at the Wembley gig Brian even commented: "many people think because we've released a singles album that we're finished; but its not true. This is just the beginning." So I think Placebo have a lot left in them yet. Their dysfunctionalities as a band help them to get on and make amazing music. There is no clash of personalities because Brian fronts it and Steve and Stefan are happy. Lets hope they stick around for a long time yet. |

Hey longlivesp I agree this song isn't that good. But check out A Song To Say Goodbye cause like wow. This song is so so weak. But listening to them both you kind of get the full contrast of it. |

This song is amazing. "Because I want you" is a poor poor Placebo song; yet this one stands head and shoulders above it. I think this song is about a converted drug addict, who's friend helped him get off drugs, but has now fallen into them, thereself, and basically the guys saying, hey I've been there why didn't you let me help you? But maybe the other person is too proud? I'm not sure. The use of irony is great though.

How can no one comment on T Rex ? One of the greatest bands there ever was and no one says anything about them. Urgh. Sums up Britain. We'd rather listen to "Crazy Frog". |

| Placebo – Commercial For Levi Lyrics

"Sleep may be the enemy"
This line to me makes me think that its not Brian telling someone to get their act together but someone telling Brian too. This is mainly because I read in an interview that Brian hates to sleep because when his asleep, he can't stop the truthful thoughts he has. This line got me thinking the song is about him, getting bollocked and havnig to get his act together. |

o.o another thing, the second time he says:
"'Scuse me, I apologize
he likes your attitude, he tries it on for size
he spends the afternoon, between your thighs
how's that for gratitude, I apologize."
does anyone else thinks he sounds like his about to burst into tears? Why is this? |

Does anyone actually know what he says at the end? And no, it isn\'t what most sites believe it to be, beacuse if you listen then match the lyrics it doesn\'t go 100%. So please tell if you do know, its been bugging me. |

I have no idea why, but I get the feeling this song is about a guy who hires a prostitute; don't ask me why I came to this conclusion. |
