| Chevelle – Shameful Metaphors Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think this song is about someone trying to help a friend but not getting through to him. First verse is about questioning whether or not he should help a friend, and then admitting that his help might not do much after all. The chorus is the speaker questioning himself why he couldn't help the friend in need. His attempt made no impact and even after it the friend continues to go on with whatever he's doing. Second verse is the man on the verge of failing, with the breakdown saying even the best friends have their secrets to which they don't admit. "Behold the lost, behold the band-aid" to me is someone trying to help a friend in need, but their help is just a temporary solution, like a band aid you slap on top of a wound which just covers it up instead of actually healing it. I know I'm speaking pretty vague here, but I don't want to bring this song down to another drug addiction because I think it's more than that. Also I'm quite drunk. But think of it through that point of view for a read, it makes sense. |

Allright people, just to clear it up once and for all to all of you, so you get off the pointless and focus on what matters in the song. I am a 100% russian, lived there most part of my life. Raz, Dva, Tree, in fact does mean one, two, three, Odin, Dva, Tri would mean the exact same thing.. Nothing more. The whole Russian translation here is quite accurate. The only thing I've noticed is it's not "Pioneers are going there", but rather "Pioneers are walking around there." Though it doesn't make much difference. Over and out. Oh, and whoever the hell wrote "var", no that is not a word in Russian language, and not even close to a word. |

| Actually the whole band got sued. Twice. Once by Volcano (but then the band couter sued Volcano, and Volcano in term just dropped the charges). As for the other time, I dunno, look it up... | |

| I love this song. Yeah, it's kinda sick, yeah, it's weird in terms of vocals and setup, but it's different. My favorite song on the album, even though I disagree with the message behind the lyrics. I have a totally different feeling then what Slipknot tries to get across associated with the song, but I guess it works. | |

Well, the most common reference to "seven words" is actually Biblical. The last 7 words of Jesus - "Father, father, why have thou forsaken me" But the cop thing goes along much better. |

Beautiful song, really, too bad it was left off the original album. I think it's about sex, or to be more exact, to get a girl to come. "The more you wait The more you burn" The longer you wait for climax, the stronger it is. But it's even more so about how hard it is sometimes to get her to come, as much as you want to, before you yourself "Break through" ) |

My favorite song. Period. In my opinion the key lines here are "Something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be Desensitized to everything What became of subtlety? How can it mean anything to me If I really don't feel anything at all? " It's about how the society has become so desensitized, so void of any feelings, that you need a damn fist up your ass to feel anything at all. We ignore the issues that are important and it's time to wake the fuck up. It might be painful, but with it comes the recognition of what's around you. |

First of all - Saturn comes back around - the period of saturn's revolution is close to 30 years, after that time, you go through everything you have experienced before, positive and negative, and chose whether to live on or go to a different conscience. Clutch it like a cornerstone Otherwise it all comes down Justify denials and Grip 'em to the lonesome end Clutch it like a cornerstone Otherwise it all comes down Terrified of being wrong Ultimatum prison cell The period of Saturn's return is defining the next years of your life. You will be haunted by all your wrongs and glorifyed by all the things you've done well, justify denials into and terrified of being wrong. Otherwise it all comes down - it's not going to be the best part of your life ;) Scarlet Letterman is a Hawthorne reference, read the book if you care, I'm not going on about it, I hated the boring damn thing. Saturn ascends Chose one or ten Chosing to go on or stay. One signifies the birth, ten the end of revolution, death. Give away the stone, let the oceans take and transmutate this cold and fated anchor Give away your grudge and let the fate take away the downfalls. I am in a very intoxicated state right now. ~ Your friendly oxygen-wasting Manatee Hunter |
