this is a wonderful wonderful song. it captures so beautifully the faint echoing memory of a time you remember simply for its ordinariness, or because for one reason or another it occurred to you that you might someday forget. that said. what's with sam and the dogs? this song, cinder & smoke, jezebel... always with the dogs. i don't get it... |

to me this is also not (necessarily) a song about old people. it's about, perhaps, even the /first/ realisation of permanence. the couple in this song have finally realised that they have found home, physically and metaphorically, and that they will never, not even in death, have to leave it again. a beautiful song that can regularly make me cry. |
