I think this song is about living a monotonous life in a city. Wake up, go to work, go home and sleep. Doing that everyday, and there's no time for having fun. It's kinda true to some people, some people just work to make ends meet and forgets about meeting up with friends, or having a relationship. It is kinda ironic for me, cos when i hear "a big city life" i thinks about going out everyday, have fun go clubbing and the stuff. while in reality this is not true at all, especially if you have a 9 to 5 job.. Well.. this is what i think about the song interpretation, but i'm sure there are people who don't agree with me. XD |

oh.. i just noticed somethin after writing all dat down before... for the first 3 stanza.. the song is about me, me and more me but the last stanza is about you i think i understand it now.. i think the last stanza is saying.. you are the world to me.. but i don't know what you think of me.. you're still not sure whether you love me or not.. and the verse "debate half empty or half full" is about the girl thinking of being optimistic or pessimistic.. and the verse "it slowly rises, your love is gonna drown" is about if you don't do anything.. everything is gonna be for a naught.. alrite.. what do you guys think of my interpretation? |

let's see if most of you agree with my interpretation of the song.. "I" in this case is the person singing/saying and "you" is the perseon that you cares about If I could open my arms and span the length of the isle of Manhattan I'd bring it to where you are making a lake of the East River and Hudson ^^ saying nothing is impossible.. i'll do anything for you and you can count on me for anything And if I could open my mouth wide enough for a marching band to march out they would make your name sing and bend through alleys and bounce off all the buildings I wish we could open our eyes to see in all directions at the same time ^^ i want to make sure everyone and anyone to know that i love you and i don't care if anyone finds out about it.. Oh what a beautiful view if you were never aware of what was around you and it is true what you say that I live like a hermit in my own head but when the sun shines again I'll pull the curtains and blinds to let the light in ^^ you are my sunshine, i am nothing without you, you are my source of power to look at the world.. i closed my mind on everything until you came around Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound but while you debate half empty or half full it slowly rises your love is gonna drown ^^ this one is tricky i don't know what this last stanza is saying till "interpolchance" and "245am" says it.. but this last stanza is kinda hard to decipher for me.. |

" I’m a raisin she's a cow" does dat sentence meant i think he's saying?.. with the cow remarks? if so.. then wat's with the "raisin" part? "Smoke to mouth and nod your head I can’t remember what you said And your name again?" whoooo!!! he's thinkin about gettin laid, dat's why he doesn't remember wat the girl is saying or even remember her name.. hahaha.. just kidding...... XD but seriously this band is one of the better australian band i've heard.. |
