i dont think that the "dont hold yourself like that you'll hurt your knees" refers to blow jobs instead i think he feels as if she worships and adores him and is literally on her knees for him. he is saying he doesnt feel as deeply for her. he believes she sees him as something he is not she idolises him on a pedestal and yearns for him : and what I am to you is not real and what I am to you you do not need she asks him not to toy with her and seems strong and feels she can give him what he needs: I kissed your mouth, your back is that all you need? but he feels she is too young and cant. hes not looking for commitment in her he is doesnt see her as a partner thouugh he harbours some feeling for her he does not feel they would be right together |

| Madsy your wrong “son of sam” wasn’t a postman he was a security guard quitting that job one day b4 his first murder to become a taxi driver also he never had a dog he hated dogs. He rented a house owned by a guy called sam cas… something and he claimed that there was a demon inside him called sam and he was controlled by another demon called General Jack Cosmo. The people he lived with and others on his street had dogs and he would claim there barking to be insufferable and that they were possessed by demons and they were howling for blood and to silence them 4 a while he had to kill. Though he later admitted this was merely a cover up to use for when he got caught, which he knew was inevitable “the cuple killer running out of time”. Also he did kill couples! And soulbot david wasn’t as insane as first appeared the demons were a cover story for his sick killing then masturbation over his “handiwork”. This isn’t a song about the son of sam but Elliott is comparing himself to him the last line “im a little like you more like son of sam” even though Elliott said he wasn’t thinking of son of sam while writing the song he must have just to include the phrases and that stuff about it being subconscious is bullshit song writing is an entirely cognitive process just like speeches and poems the ego defences wouldn’t let stuff out through song writing its all considered songs don’t just suddenly appear. so what im saying is that this song isnt about david but elliott using him as a metaphor about relatoinships and a comparison to himself | |

I think its meaning is simple and obvious "i'm in love with the world through the eyes of a girl who's still around the morning after" this is how when he is with this girl and the way she interprets life is beautiful, precious and intriguing to him, isnt it lovely to see the world through the eyes of someone you adore it always seems so deep and colourful? "we broke up a month ago and i grew up i didn't know i'd be around the morning after" they dated they broke up but one night they got back together "it's always been wait and see a happy day and then you pay and feel like shit the morning after" this is how now he doesnt know where he is with her and has to wait to see what she wants, they had a great time but you pay for it the next day with the anxieties and confusion on where your are going "but now i feel changed around and instead falling down i'm standing up the morning after" but this time it feels different and her still being there makes him feel safe and he feels great in the morning "situations get fucked up and turned around sooner or later and i could be another fool or an exception to the rule you tell me the morning after" but he knows he is not in the clear and he could be a fool in thinking he has won her back and he wants her to say what she feels and the title of the song "say yes" seems to refer to her accepting him back im not so sure about the proposal idea tho "crooked spin can't come to rest i'm damaged bad at best she'll decide what she wants i'll probably be the last to know" he is saying that he is not doing well and its up to her and what she wants. "no one says until it shows and you see how it is they want you or they don't" This is how no one wants to share their feelings until they show ythey dont voice them until they are so intense they are obvious, he has nopo idea where he stands with her he is gonna wait and see whether she wants him or not. yes or no. i love this song its beautiful relatable and genius |

ho many ppl have ever read genisis? i dont believe in god but the bible is an interesting read.
