This song is one I used to listen to a few years back when I was in high school. I thought it was pretty, but never gave much thought to the lyrics until recently. It makes me feel really homesick to remember when I was younger and used to listen to it. But the lyrics also hit really close to home. I dropped out of high school against my parent's wishes and started college early. College didn't last more than a year. I moved away from the city I grew up in and left all my friends. A couple years later I am now 19 and I have a respectable career. My parents are just now coming around to seeing me as something other than a failure. Sometimes theres still nothing more in the world I'd want than to go back home again though. |
