Hollywood Undead – My Black Dahlia Lyrics 19 years ago
Emo + Rap = Bad bad bad bad bad really really bad.

This song's pretty much horrible. I like Hollywood Undead, but this song is definitely their worst song. I skip it every time.

D12 – Fight Music Lyrics 19 years ago
Bizzare is such a retard. He practically ruins every D12 song. Everyone in D12 is an amazing rapper and usually kills their verse in each song, except for Bizarre. He never has anything intelligent or original to say, he just keeps talking about screwing his mom or grandma and punching sluts. It's not a matter of me not having a sense of humor (I do), it's a matter of Bizarre trying to cover up his inability to rap by trying to shock the listener, when it just comes across as a pathetic attempt to be funny when he really has no wit at all.

Flogging Molly – Seven Deadly Sins Lyrics 19 years ago
Please disregard my last comment, I didn't realise that line was supposed to be in the first verse. I was trying to hear it in the last verse/bridge thingy. I hear it now, my bad.

Flogging Molly – Seven Deadly Sins Lyrics 19 years ago
You may all be right, but I do not hear

"Johnny strummed his Tommy gun
Left blastin' through the ceiling "

I'm quite sure that's not what it says, but maybe I just have a different version, I dunno.

Five Iron Frenzy – Something Like Laughter Lyrics 20 years ago
This song is beautiful.

The person above me summed this song up well, but I see the rain a bit differently.

"Standing tall, all the aspen trees drink water
As the rain falls down like laughter from the sky"

To me that just paints a beautiful picture of finally rising above the rest of the world, lifted up by God, feeling free for the first time. The rain may resemble troubles or trials, but the reason they fall like laughter is because even though trials and hardships still come her way, she can smile through it and take joy in her trials because she has found new life in Jesus, like Paul the apostle said (I forget which book, I'm not as biblically well versed as I'd like).

Now, that's all my own speculation, and is definitely fallible, to take what you will from it.

Project 86 – Doomsday Stomp Lyrics 20 years ago
That plague your talking about is commonly referred to as the Passover, and it was the final of 7 plagues that God bestowed upon Egypt because of their refusal to free the Jews (God's homies). In this final plague, they Angel of Death went to every house and killed the first born son (and animal, for taht matter) in the house, but he passed over any house which had lamb's blood smeared over the door, as God had commanded them to do beforehand.
I'm not sure where you got the idea that that's what this song is about, but reading over it, it seems to fit. I'll buy it, nice one.

Fall Out Boy – Sugar, We're Goin Down Lyrics 20 years ago
Nobody cares about your stupid verbal insult wars. It's boring and tiring to look at. You should stop being children and go back to your tool and midget Mayner boards and talk about how smart and hardcore you guys are. It's getting very old when hardcore kids come to pop punk boards and claim superiority because the music they listen to is heavier. So what? That gives you a right to come here and call us fags for listening to the music that we have grown to like? You have a right to like your own kind of music. You have a right to dislike and even hate other kinds of music if you want to, that's okay. I'm even alright with people getting on band boards and saying they hate that band, if their discussion is at least a little thought out. But to get on a board and start spewing excriments about how the band sucks and everyone who listens to them is gay, is ignorant and immature at best.
I guess that's all. Go ahead now, make some jokes about me, pehaps something about my dad molesting me, that's a new one for you guys. You can also say that I sodomize my mother or something, im sure that would also be quite the sidesplitter.

Paramore – Emergency Lyrics 20 years ago
I was at Cornerstone Festival in Illinois, up late getting a funnel cake, and as I'm walking back to my tent, i heard this beautiful sound from across the river. I followed the sound to the stage where Paramore was playing. Not only was I blown away by their performance, but I think i fell in love with Hayley, the lead singer. She's an amazing vocalist and her energy in a live show is just lovely. Paramore's a pretty great band, and this is probably my favorite song of them that I've heard. I've preordered their CD already, and I'm highly anticipating its arrival late in July. I have high expectations for this band and you should too. Check them out, you won't be wasting your time.

Ozma – Natalie Portman Lyrics 20 years ago
Oh man, I can relate to this song exactly. I mean, EXACTLY. I, too, love Natalie Portman. Or, I'm obsessed with her anyways. I know it's unrealistic and she's six years older than me and she's waaaay too beautiful for me, but I can't help but dream of her.
So to help you out, Ars Musica, the line "If I'm a proper Jewish boy / Will her family love me?" is because Natalie Portman was born in Jerusalem, Israel( isn't that so hott?), and she's of Jewish descent. So, if you want to get to Natalie, you have to make her parents like you too. Hope that clears it up. Also, in case any of you were wondering, in the first stanza it says :she's been developing since 1981", cuz she was born in '81. Kinda sad that I know all this off the top of my head.
Well, Natalie's beautiful, that's all.

MxPx – Quit Your Life Lyrics 20 years ago
Holy crap, who in the world ever tried to say these guys are metal? Of course they're not, they never tried to be, they never will be, and that's the way people love them.
Pop punk? Heck yes they are. This type of music is as wussy as can be. But you know what? I love it anyway. I like the energy, the harmonies, the catchiness, the overall spirit of the music. If you don't like it, fine, but don't be a jerk about it and tell us that this is pop punk like it's news to us. We know. We love it anyway. We'renot concerned with how tough it is, we like the music. So take your fake visage and run back to your image-focused scene so that you can buy some more spiked bracelets to show everyone how tough you are.
"It's all about the music" probably says it best. Like consan1ne said, listen to is and love it for what it is.

Project 86 – Safe Haven Lyrics 20 years ago
I can get with that explanation. I also may introduce a slightly different way to interperet it. While it's true that the Christian world is often scared to step out into the secular world to reach out to it, the same meaning can be paralleled in this song for the other world. The secular world often does not want to come out of its "safe haven." Many people in this world believe that they are just fine right where they are and they don't want to move or change a thing, they're just content doing what they do on a daily basis. Nobody knows, nobody cares, nobody bothers to see what's beyond what they already have, to see if maybe there's more.
I think both applications work well, since this is obviously such a deep,multi-layered song.
This song is, in my opinion, the best on the CD, I just love it. It may be my favorite Project song ever, in fact. It's just that good. Like denmil said, if you don't have this CD, get it. It's one of the best CD's I've ever heard in my life.
