I dont think that this is what it's meant to be about but this is my personal interpretation....A boy and a gal fall in love....real love and its amazing...but then she get's depression and wants to kill herself...the boyfriend can't deal with it...cos she's changed soooo much and is just an quite, empty shell of the person he fell in love with....he just keeps thinking about how she used to be before she got ill and wishing that person would come back. there's no happy ending to this one...the relationship ends....just a thought..... |

to me it's like he's describing a relationship where the love is gone-or maybe never existed at all (on his part) "so dull it kills" The gal is possessive and the relationship is nothing but argueing. Broken and destroyed. Though he has not left...he doesnt know how or doesnt have the heart....he feels nothing and is bored "killing time" but he stays...... |

the satr of the song reminds me of the people I know who dont get wasted all the time...they go out jogging and hold down a 'proper job' in the city...they own a car etc...its a nice image kind of admirable of those with that type of life...but the end verse is quite sour...its like its showing a shallowness of those who dont believe in the free love hippie type ethos...i dunno |
