| OK Go – Here It Goes Again Lyrics

I see that there's no mention about the greatest grunge band in the '90's (apart from Nirvana maybe)
Surfer Rosa was the name of the debut album of the Pixies, a band that inspired Kurt Cobain - which clearly shows in "smells like teen spirit"
apart from that, the song is really, really catchy - and the clip just pure brilliance! |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – If There Is a God Lyrics

what's this what's this? A little reference to one of the masters of style-change?
Imagine the surprise when i suddenly realised that "the spiders from mars" line originally comes from David Bowie's years as Ziggy (I've only recently begun to dig through his music). Quite a coincidence too, because just a week or 2 ago i stumbled across a vid of billy and david performing on david's 50th birthday!
it, indeed, is a little like Joan Osborne's song. Though her song is more a "what if" song, while this song is more asking about where god is on earth, and if he has as much trouble living modern life as we do? |

DrBobert, I actually get the idea that Billy is continueing on Machina, just like the music on zeitgeist has (for as far as i know...haven't bought the album yet *shame*). He wore that strange half leather dress during the last tour as well...this is more...ah, toga-ish i think. forgot the word.
i've also been looking a bit longer at those lyrics, and i guess you're right. it IS very difficult to interpret, even though it seems so simple. I keep changing my mind about it. damnit. |

this definately fits as a soundtrack for "Transformers". I've seen the trailer for that movie, and it really does fit.
It's a good song. I've heard someone say it was "Mellon Collie meets Machina" which is slightly true.
The lyrics are a bit as though this song is about the world ending. I'm just a little bit unsure of the "these lonely days, will they ever stop?" part.
and billy needs to work on pronounciation of french sentences: c'est la vie. its a bit unclear, but a nice change! |

my my my, they're back! I've seen a few concerts (online, of course...i'd love to see em live for a change) and i liked what i heard. Hated the white rain poncho's , but that's beside the point.
I heard this song a few hours after its release, found myself baffled by the sound that was so much Pumpkins-like (i feared that maybe Billy's electronical mood with TFE would influence it greatly)!
Apart from that, though, i'm slightly afraid that the lyrics arent as...poetic...as they used to be. Almost as though Billy hasn't written them. Or maybe i'm looking at it too simply, but yeah...still, i'm really looking forward to that album next month! |

...when I first heard this song, one of those typical shudders went down my back - and it wasn't a pleasant one- . Second reaction: hysterical laughter. What can you say about this song...it was probably made with a stupid big grin on their faces xD |

| Indochine – Juste Toi Et Moi Lyrics

i love this song, especially the opening.
and, FUllamaCK, not only the french listen to Indochine, as you thought. But since most of the visitors to this website are not members, i doubt they ever respond...unless they're me.
and i do not come from france, belgium or canada, nor do i know much about the french language (better at listening than speaking/writing). But i dó listen to Indochine, because they are one hell of a band (in a good way). They change their styles, experiment with their music...thát's what's important to me.
ps. i'm not english either, though its just a sea keeping the distance (unfortunately).
But yeah :) they really are a good band!! |

Yesterday i was watching 'the FutureEmbrace film' (the one that's 18 mins long) and...there's a scene where Billy's on the ground, kinda lost looking, when a woman appears in front of him and hands him a box with m.o.h on it (my old heart)....and thinking of what chuck had posted above...that could be THE Mina Loy...another thing solved. If you watch closely you can see Jimmy going by a few times as well ;) |

this song has a few special touches. One: Jimmy (chamberlin) is drumming on it and two: there's a violin in it, which gives it a great extra sound. And the woman who plays the violin also sings a few parts along with Billy. Its great to listen to, it makes me feel comfortable. |

thank god there are people who study that kind of stuff to inform the people who not know. Two meanings behind this song: the 9/11 disaster and futurism. I guess i love songs more when i know more of their background. =) |

This is my second fav. song on The FutureEmbrace. I really love it. The sound is great, and Billy's singing is also/always fantastic. I agree with brithestfirefly, the part of 'who needs pain to survive?' is my favourite part. It says a lot. |

Never had i heard a song like this come from billy, so that's why i laughed, but eventually i started liking it (that always happens, one way or another). |

I think this is my absolute favourite song on Billy's album. In an interview he said he didn't want any rage on his album, he wasn't sure if he would use it on his album. 'There would have been a muteny if I didn't'. I agree with the people who worked together with him. This song is really too good to NOT put on an album. The meaning behind the lyrics is really clear (though he did explain it) and the sound is (as usual) amazing!
Billy is such an amazing artist. |

this is THE song that can make me happy any time I hopelessly need that. After a while, I start singing along, and when it finishes, I'm happy! And who am I to stop the cd after 1979? =P
I've got an interview somewhere where billy talks about 1979, and I thought he said it just came into his head with the one line:" shakedown 1979" and he finished it. He is THA MASTER when it comes to writing lyrics....can't wait for his solo album as well...!!! |

| Auf Der Maur – Followed the Waves Lyrics

I think the songs about a woman using a guy in the beginning for money and other things (=P) and later on she decides to 'shuffle his deck clean' or in other words, help him. So far the lyric explaining.
I knew Melissa from the Pumpkins(hehehe) but never listened to her album (shame) but later on I saw her on the programme for Lowlands in Holland, and a few weeks later, when lowlands started, she was on a programme that was broadcasted for lowlands, and there was a bit of her show in it as well, with skin receiver and followed the waves, if I recall correctly...anyway, after I heard her songs, I was like 'ah...cool!!' and here I am...>.> |

| Auf Der Maur – Skin Receiver Lyrics

I really like skin receiver as well...what I wonder is, do the horses you often hear in the back relate to the song? seeing melissa also sings about a stampede...I've been pondering for some time about this song, and I think Melissa could have written about some kind of angel (i forgot the name) who has wings and rides a horse (explains the horses). Seeing Melissa is a big fan of the victorian style, and that painting was made in the victorian style as well, it could relate to that. The angel sits on a horse and is, like all angels, not dressed. since music doesn't always have to be about feelings but can also tell stories, it is possible...0.o MadM roxx! |
