I don't buy it... This is almost like saying that the Unambiguously Gay Duo are not gay... Hmm... |

| But then again, the interpretation of Jesus would work too. But ambiguity always make for better songwriting. | |

I agree with takingstraylight and MichelleInne1985; the damn song is about heroin!!! I'm no heroin addict, but if most ppl can't figure it out, try injecting some in your arms and listen to this song again. About the "friendship" message, re-read: "I'm on your side. When times get rough And friends just can't be found," What 'friend' are we talking about? Also: "When you're down and out, When you're on the street, When evening falls so hard I will comfort you. I'll take your part. When darkness comes And pain is all around" When you're on the street... this friend just sits beside you and comfort you? And take your part? "Sail on silvergirl, Sail on by. Your time has come to shine. All your dreams are on their way" This must be the "high" part. "I will ease your mind" Heroin offers escapism. Heroin addicts are often "down-and-out", on the streets, and often in "pain" [Ref: "And pain is all around"]. This 'pain' is the physical uncomfortness experienced with withdrawals of not having heroin in your system. People are too sheltered. I think I've just slapped some mud on some ppl. |

"The door is locked now, but it's open if you're true If you can understand the me, than I can understand the you Lay beside me, under wicked sky The black of day, dark of night, we share this paralyze" Sometimes we lose trust in the opposite sex; fear of being burned by another causes us to create walls or put up that "door". The "paralyze" is the inability to move forward. "Lay beside me, tell me what I've done The door is closed, so are your eyes But now I see the sun, now I see the sun Yes, now I see it" A ray of hope shines through. |

Why women love this song? For me, what I really love about this song, from the lyrics, it also sounds as if the song about a woman (or anyone) who, through past experiences, is apprehensive about love and puts up a wall in defense. The challenge is to penetrate through this wall. Amazing and powerful lyrics! The mood, music, and Jame's voice all blend in to create this incredibly moving song. |

| The 'wicked game' is to make a person want/desire someone so badly, yet they can't have that person. | |

| Umm... the vocal is a male's. I am in love with this song, the lyrics, and the singer's voice. I'm sure everyone has/will experience(d) crying him/herself to sleep from being broken-hearted. | |
