| Meat Loaf – I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| You are all totally wrong...like not even close. The girl totally wants to peg him (i.e. anal sex with a strap-on) but he's not up for it. What else could "it" really refer to? | |
| Nine Inch Nails – Reptile Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he killed Annie at the end of Big Man with a Gun. The next song on the album is A Warm Place. It's the peace of mind he finds after killing Annie. Then Eraser is realization and guilt of what he did. So he goes to a hooker to try to make himself feel better. And this again is a continuation of his self destructive tendancies exhibited throughout the album. | |

Ohh nevermind, it means: "What You See Is What You Get" |

| Uhhh....what does "W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G" stand for? | |
| Pitchshifter – Please Sir Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I like how the song just takes oridinary catchphrases that don't really mean anything and tries to turn them around. "God is love" "The future's so bright" Basically the song is about how people make dumb excuses, or in this case cliches, to ignore problems in our society. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Gave Up Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
"covered in hope and vaseline" That has nothing to do with homosexuality. Vasoline is a reference to masturbation. I think the song is about him getting dumped and he tries to get back together with the girl but she doesn't want him. So eventually he realizes how pathetic he is and he gives up on getting her back. |

| Nine Inch Nails – Ruiner Lyrics | 20 years ago |

Like others have said the ruiner is an authority figure. I suppose it could be a politician, but I think it's probably a priest or some member of the clergy. If you look at Mr. Self Destruct, it sort of outlines the three topics of the album: women (or one in particular), religion, and drugs. The ruiner lies to get the general public to believe in God "he's the living end to the cattle he deceives the raping of the innocent you know the ruiner ruins everything he sees now the only pure thing left in my fucking world is wearing your disease " If you look at the song Heresy the speaker refers to an individual. Many people interpet this as him speaking to God, but he refers to God by name as well so I think he's talking mainly about the ruiner (though one or two lines are about God). Anyway, here are a few of the lines from Heresy that I believe are references to the ruiner. "he tries to tell me what I put inside of me he got the answers to ease my curiosity he dreamed a god up and called it christianity he flexed his muscles to keep his flock of sheep in line" |

| Nine Inch Nails – Piggy Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| Like some other have said, I believe it's about a break-up. I think the key thing about this song is Trent Reznor's apathy (both in his voice and in the lyrics). He repeats the line "Nothing can stop me now, cuz I don't care anymore." I think it's the "speaker" in the song contemplating suicide. | |
