it about him losing, most likely, a girlfriend. the felling i get from the sample at the end is he is illustrating that a fight pushed her a way and now he has nothing more to than wither in die in his apartment, his grave. On an unrelated note "He heres the little girl in the upstairs apartment enjoying herself on what might as well be his grave" is one of the best lines i have seen in lyric poetry or any other lyric form. |

oh please, ever heard of the rose period or blue period. and dont argue some bs about kurt cobain and his deep, insightful lyrics. nirvana is built around sadness and despair, picaso did paint in one color for 2/3 of his career, and Slayer as well as Corrosion of Conformity and include politically driven lyrics, see Confearacy or Vote with a Bullet. and death should make someone that much happier to be alive. |

first of all i love cradle of filth. they were the first black metal band i ever got into. dont kid yourself there isnt much to cradle but the usual black metal themes, ie all of "midian" as well as "nymphetamine" not to mention "cruelty and the beast". you still dont explain how there is balance in what is excepted as art such as pacaso and good music isnt art just because its good music, just like a book isnt literature because its a good book. there is more to art or literature. by the way i consider it very hard to take music as "art" in the usual sense and the definition of art is so abstract how can you decide what it is. opeth isnt that positive and i didnt touch a perfect circle cuz i havent heard much from them and didnt like what i heard but if they are anything like tool then the focus is on the instruments. and nirvana is whiney. there lyrics are built around complaining about the sad shape of things but advocating no real action, thats whiney. at least metal calls to tear down religion and at times the goverment that has screwed everything up so badly. |

and how is pacaso's paintings balanced? and i happen to think cannibal corpse is good music thats why i listen to them. i also said i dont think that metal is the only good music. and cradle of filth is no more balanced than cannibal corpse. they sing about praising satan and necrophillia so how can you scold CC for doing the same? Nirvana is about as whinny as emo music. in fact the majority of your favorited bands malleable focus pretty much on one side. there isnt anymore balance in what you listen to than there is in this. and i couldnt help but comment again. i love to argue about music i just wish you had a more open mind then you might see the simularities between CC and the bands you like. |

i agree that wormed is really fuckin butal, more so than CC; sure. they border on grindcore they are so brutal but i was talking about american death metal and there site says they are from madrid which would be spain not america. i also like the fixation on blood and guts more than physics or other sciences which is wut it seems wormed is about not that they dont have good songs, i just prefer gore. |

i know i said i was done argueing with you but you call this music one sided like the bands you listen cover anything more than the lighter side of humanity, your music is just as narrow it just focuses on a different side and you still didnt declare any bands you like so i cant prove its garbage but if you listen to bands like good charlette and simple plan your music is garbage because it betrays and insults the roots of punk music, if you listen to rap your music is garbage because the majority of songs focus on meaningless crap like "trying to catch me ridin dirty" 100 times with no musical talent at all and i like some intelligent rap, if you listen to emo the music is garbage because anyone who has been palying guitar for .3 seconds can play any emo song out there, the majority of modern rock is the same; simple repetitive power chords, lets see did i miss anything, oh pop music like britney spears... well all thats takes is a choregrapher and a prerecorded tape. Dont get me wrong i dont think all music aside from metal is garbage; in fact i have great love for real punk like dead kennedys and black flag as well as some early rap because they were legitamite expressions of topics that otherwise were ignored by mainstream idiots like you; but i bet the crap you listen to falls into one of these shitty catagories. bet you still dont listen though. instead you will post another comment attempting to undermind my statements and quite honestly you havent put forth a legitamite reason why this is garbage. i checked out immoliation and i must say his growl pails in comparision to barnes or corpsegrinder and the songs i heard were not very fast which is a huge plus with Cannibal Corpse. All and all they may be technical but i like CC alot more. |

Opeth Sucks dead child balls. All those people who are offeded by this; Do you really take them seriously because their fans dont and niether do they for that matter. If you do you might want to consider therapy for even believing these lyrics were real for even a second let alone long enough to post a comment bashing the non-serious lyrics. Also they havent been makeing the same songs. Chris Barnes wrote alot of songs about raping dead people but most of them appear on the same album "Tomb Of The Mutilated" while songs on "The Bleeding" revole more around serial killings and zombies. Kind of like a concept album. Once Chris left the band and Alex and Paul took over writting, the lyrics range from being eaten by rats to building devices to remove peoples brains to a cult that worships a murderous god and much more. True the ideas are related but they are not the same. The music is different too as shows real evolution. Their first album was much for musically simplistic than there most recent showing that they got better with their instruments and incorporated that into the music. So if you dont like CC and think the lyrics are gross stop commenting on them. Also i think the lyrics are gross but the what is so great about them. They are not afraid to gross you out or disturb you and that is the really amazing thing about CC. |

Just becuase you sing about death and necrophilia does not mean one is a necrophiliac. That is a statement of ignorance and shows that if put in the same position as CC you, MudvayneFan66, you might acutally become a necrophiliac. I say this becuase the people who steer clear of these things are the ones who will take these lyrics as serious just like in the Eastern Proverb of the monks. Monks are not allowed to touch women but two monks pass a women who needs help across a shallow river. One monk refuses to help but the other carries her across. Later the rule-abbiding monk as the other why he broke the rules. The 2nd monk says he has forgotten about the girl. The proverb shows that people with out the wil to resist will instead isolate themselves from what ever they cannot resist. So becuase they can sing about it with out being it shows more will power than everyone who bad mouths them and writes them off as senseless of gross. |

Cannibal Corpse is the best american death metal band. Alex Webster is a 100 times better a bassist than others like Glen Benton and since Pat O'Brien joined the group they have gotten even better. Their riffs are sick as shit and the addition of Pat made them that much sicker and more talented. As far as the lyrics go they are only there to offend and provide a laugh for people who understand what they are doing which is grossing out "regular" people. Also the music sets the perfect sonic background for the lyrics. CC isn't about being deep or intellegent; they are about making fast, brutal death metal that scares your parents and they are the best at it! |
