| Brand New – The Shower Scene Lyrics | 19 years ago |

The song is about the Adam cheating on John's sister incident, because he says "It's funny how your worst enemies always seem to turn out to be all of your best friend's best friends." His best friend was John and his best friend's best friend was Adam. And when he says, "These aren't the things I've saved to sink you but I folded, I told. So draw or throw and I will explode" I think he's saying that Adam told him hoping he wouldn't tell John, but he did tell John, he folded, and now Adam's going to draw or throw (a punch), etc. When he says, "It's time for you to choose the bullet or the chapstick. And you are far too cute or whatever he said", he's talking to whomever Adam cheated with telling her to choose for him so he can either hurt Adam or just forget it and blow over, hence the "It's time for you to choose the bullet or the chapstick. This is me in his room." He's either going to hurt Adam or let him continue. "Red, gold, I told, we don't play fair. Red, gold, I told, we never stand too close," means that they don't play fair with relationships, gossip, lies, cheating, tattling, etc. and they never stand too close to their friends as a result of what they know could happen. I'm not sure about the "Got tell him how my wrist is sore" thing. Either he's self-injuring, doing something dirty, or it's a metaphor. |

| Bright Eyes – Old Soul Song (For the New World Order) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Soundboy, don't mean to attack you, but you are totally wrong. Conor constantly attacks religion for everything it is like how he attacks the modern day goverment. Conor is definitely not religious and throughout the whole album you hear his negative views on religion. Now, to me I get the same impression as everyone else has so far: a riot or parade or protest of some sort, which I'm sure Conor attends because he likes to stand up for what he believes in. The first two lines are a comparison of light and dark, the gray light is the negative in the day starting, but the old soul song coming on to wake the narrator up makes the day seem a little better because they know there will be some form of violence or depression involved with the protest. Of course the rest of the first verse talks about the protest and how the protestors 'swallowed the police' and 'went wild.' Now, the second verse explains that the narrator and whomever they took with them to the protest left before almost everyone else, and on their way home the person he was with held his or her camera like a Bible in one sense protecting the film (I'm a photographer and even if I don't think I have that good of a picture on the film I still protect the camera like crazy) and in another sense hoping that the camera could bring about truth in the world. I also like everyone else's impressions with how pictures, cold hard evidence, show truth while words written thousands of years ago doesn't show truth. But anyway, Conor's darkroom knowledge is limited because you don't drop the paper into water until after the picture has developed on the paper, first you put it in developer. But that's unimportant. But then he said as the picture develops the truth blooms like a flower. The last verse of course is a little iffy because we can never know the composer's true intentions without them telling us, but I think he is saying that when he get's extremely lonely he sees something that gives him hope--in the occassion of the song, he sees flowers on a hillside, which look like a wall of new TVs. How this doesn't make sense to others, I don't know. Flowers radiate many different colors especially when growing on a hillside without any humans controlling which flowers glow, so there are many different colors and types of flowers. Well, on a wall of new TVs there are many different types and colors of TVs and TVs emanate many different colors also. That's my take on the song. |

This song is about the lead singer being gay. Listen to it with this concept in mind, and you'll see how it is relative. |

| Panic! at the Disco – There's a Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Thought of It Yet Lyrics | 20 years ago |
| When he says "I'm the new cancer, never looked better", he means that he is the new person causing havoc. Cancer not only means the disease of cancer, but it is also a pernicious, spreading evil. Therefore, he is the newest person causing evil and havoc. | |

Lyrics are wrong. It's, The bridge is all crumbled The water soaks into rocks That fell at the bottom of the road (at the end of the time) The town that we lived in The memories shaken apart From the weeds that grow NOT: The bridges are crumpled, The water soaks into rocks, That fell at the bottom of the road. (At the end of time) They'll tell me we lived in the memory shakin up hard, From the weeds that grow. It's, Out on the front porch And watching the cars as they go by (Eighteen blue, twenty-one gray) Looking ahead to the first time that we could drive out on our own To speed away NOT: Out on the front porch, watching the cars that stay goin by, Eighteen blue, twenty one grey, Looking ahead for the first time that we could drive, Out on our own, To speed away It's, All of the days that passed us by All of the sun is gone away NOT: Home of days that past us by, Home of the son is gone... GOD I HATE WHEN PEOPLE POST WRONG LYRICS! |

The lyrics are wrong. It's, "Somehow my words are rendered useless Still I pull my lip down to my chest Just to show you how my jaw is Tired from waiting to say the things that you should hear" NOT: Somehow my wife, rendered useless Somehow pulled my lip down to my chest And it's, "WITH A CLOSED FIST" NOT: "WITH THE CLOSENESS" |

| Story of the Year – Anthem Of Our Dying Day Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Here's what I think and if it has been said before then I don't care. I think this song is about something messing up and then committing suicide. 'The stars will cry the blackest tears tonight' is sort of literal and metaphorical. Like I've written a line in a song sort of like this referring to rain, but I think the metaphor would be crying because he's sad. 'And this is the moment that I live for' I think is ironic because committing suicide is the moment that he'd live for. 'I can smell the ocean air' self explanatory 'Here I am pouring my heart onto these rooftops' is like he killed himself on a rooftop and he's pouring out his emotions before hand. 'Just a ghost to the world and that's exactly, exactly what I need' means that no one notices him and he needs that because he doesn't want anyone to be sad when he kills himself. 'From up here the city lights burn like a thousand miles of fire' sets the stage some more. So, he's on a rooftop at night, near the ocean, it's raining and he can see the city lights on and they look as though they're burning. 'And I'm here to sing this anthem of our dying day' now I think this brings in the problem. Our referring to a relationship messing up and its their dying day because she's going to have to live with his suicide. 'For a second I wish the tide would swallow every inch of this city as you gasp for air tonight' pretty self explanatory. He wants the city to be swallowed up so he doesn't have to kill himself, you sense regret in the decision he's making. And he wants it to happen as she wakes up gasping for air thinking that his suicide was a dream. 'I'd scream this song right in your face if you were here' is saying that he would scream at her why he's committing suicide if she was with him. 'Swear I won't miss a beat 'cause I never, never had before' that makes me think that he's thought about committing suicide for a long time and that he has tried before, but ended up not and decided to wait longer. And then it just repeats the chorus and some more of the verses. So, I don't know if the guy actually goes through with his suicide, but I would guess that he does because the song ends in rage, which is him yelling out as he dies. But, this is my opinion don't flame me because of it. |

| Story of the Year – And The Hero Will Drown Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
I think it is about a relationship. ------'The night will come and rip away her wings of innocence through every word we say' I think means that the guy tries to talk to her about their problems and she pushes away. 'Maybe it's time to spit out the core of our rotting union hopefully before it chokes us to our senses' means he their messed up relationship (the core of rotting union) needs to be 'spit out' (ended) 'before it chokes us to our senses' which means that if they stay together things might get worse, physically or verbally. ------'Guess it's too bad that everything we had was taken away' means that he sort of regrets their relationship ending and sort of not regretting it ending. ------'Swim in the smoke' is like him trying to find the truth through all the lies. 'The hero will drown' is their relationship coming to an end because he couldn't fix them. 'Intoxicating beauty tears everything down' is her completely ruining their relationship. 'But still our hands are bound at the wrist' means that all though they are broken up they can't forget about what happened. 'This romantic tragedy is suffocating from your fist in a sea of fire' means that she ended ended it all when she hit him in a 'sea of fire' meaning a rage of anger. ------'Hero, hero this word you'll never know' means that she will never understand what she did wrong and how to fix that problem. But, that's just my opinion and I think that we all are basically saying the same thing. |

| The Used – Take It Away Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
The lyrics are wrong: "I'm a pawn I should have paid up And I left an hour late I was laid up" Also, in the making of this music video on Fuse they (The Used) said the song had to do with taking away light and stuff. So, the person potrayed in the song is Photophobic, fears light. Also, they said the person can't get sleep or something. I just know it has to do with taking lights (like the sun "Burn the sun, burn the light"). |
